NBC certainly does not want a Tampa - Blues final. Just a quick word of local promotion. Our local Hurricanes (carried by Fox Sports) TV play by play man John Forslund did two series for NBC, including the first 6 games of the Blues Stars before they replaced him with Doc "The Screamer" Emerich. Forslund is a great announcer and a very humble guy who does a lot for his community. I also think Pierre McGuire does a sensational job between the benches.
No respect for "my" SJ sharks? They've got to this point too often for me to be too optimistic, but, as always, I remain hopeful that this could be their year..... Cheers, Ian
What's this about Sid Crosby using a banned substance??? Crosby responds to questions about performance enhancing drugs. - NHL News - Hockey Feed
I guess that's something at least!.... Not the way I interpreted that article at all. Seemed he said they've all got to be "careful", as they all need to be these days. Your take? Cheers, Ian
I posted the wrong news report. There was one where he gave conflicting responses and didn't exactly refute the accusation. If I had to guess, I would say he is clean.
...speaking of Crosby, good timing on his part to end his scoring drought. First I've heard of PED allegations. He doesn't strike me as the type.
And, believe it or not, that was his first ever playoff OT goal. He certainly picked a good time for that!
Blues stunk last night. ESPN's theory is the speed of the Sharks was too much for St. Louis. I disagree. The Blues' stupidity was too much for the Blues.
Mike, I agree. What in the world happened there? Not like Hitch to let his guys show up and play like that. After the first four games in the conference finals, I am starting to believe Tampa has the mojo IF (and always the biggest if) goalkeeping doesn't lose the winnable games for them.
I agree with you about the Blues' discipline with respect to Hitchcock. Not in his character to put a team out there that played sloppy and penalty filled. They looked dynamite vs Chicago, I had them going to the finals (still can, only 1-1). I expect a much better game from them tonight. I still think Pitt wins it all.
Interesting factoid; 'My' Sharks have been here 4 times previously. (I attended a few.) They've *never* held a series lead. Until tonight! Two shutouts too! Go Sharks, Cheers, Ian
Although the Sharks are playing VERY well, the Blues absolute stink right now. They look flat, and uninspired. Needless to say, with Chicago and LA out of the way, this is the Sharks best chance to win the cup. I think Pitt-SJ would be a terrific match up; high flying and speed, exactly what hockey should be.
+1 Hopefully! I just want them to make the big dance TBH. Winning it would be a (very nice!) bonus! Was there opening night a few years back when they raised the Presidents Trophy banner - Nobody really gave a damn.... Obviously, as a fan I'd like 'em to win the darn thing, but at this point I'd be happy if they make the dance..... Cheers, Ian
Maybe. Trevor Daley's absence is apparent. Letang needs to play the game of his career if there's going to be a game 7. It's been a great series.
