I just picked up a 2015 Speciale and after 3 days I already had to take it into service for battery, turn sigs and paint defect. It has now been two weeks and Ferrari still hasn't signed off on fixing the paint. Seems like they don't want to pay the cost to fix it. I would think that on a $400k car they would make sure that it's handled right and quickly. Is it always this difficult to get Ferrari to honor the warranty?

Sorry for your hassle. Sux 😞

Shouldn't happen on any new car nowadays, but especially a car that costs that much

It in the two black stripes. There is a haze that looks like hand prints on the stripes. It's under the clear coat and need to be repainted.

My only Ferrari warranty experience with my Scud years ago.

Cracking front bumper, Alcantra dashboard wrinkles (twice).

All of them were honored for warranty.

If it's not your fault and a quality issue, I cant see why Ferrari won't honor the warranty !!!

    Good luck.

Btw. More pictures of your Speciale please.

Thanks. I'm sure they will eventually. It's been two weeks in service waiting for the green light. I was wondering if that is a normal wait time? I'll try to post more pics. I'm new here and haven't figured it out yet.

You have be very very patient with Ferrari :) If they had to ask to Italy, they probably got back to work this week after the infamous August vacation period

    Yes.

The paint has never been on par with any other luxury manufacturer, and they HATE to be reminded of the fact.

    You may not get approval.

Just hit the road, and bead blast it off......with gravel.

Trying having a small test piece of clear bra put over the issue and see if it hides it

Hahaha. Thanks guys! BigTex, not sure about the gravel blasting though! Wanted to get it wrapped before I let it rip. I'll try to stay patient.

Nothing is ever like you'd expect when dealing with Ferrari :) I requested that my Speciale be made without the radio. I even preemptively offered to pay for the radio, but just don't put it in. My order was immediately flagged as a "serious problem" and I didn't get ANY feedback from Ferrari or my dealer for two months. I was in Ferrari "Limboland" :) then suddenly after two months my dealer contacted me with good news...Ferrari agreed to delete the radio. Then the next day he contacted me again saying Ferrari told him they made a mistake and they won't delete the radio after all. It's maddening. Ferrari is the only company on the planet that can get away with things like this.

Try not to let it bother you too much. One way or other it will get worked out. You are one of the fortunate people to own a VERY special Ferrari :)

Thanks 720. Can't believe you didn't want the radio. It's every audiophile's dream sound system! Was really shocked to hear how, uhhhh, great it sounds turned off!

Here's how I handled Ferrari's decision to put a radio in my Speciale :)

put a paint gauge on the car. Its not uncommon for the cars to have paint 'repair' done prior to dealer delivery. Your dealer may not even know if there was any pre-delivery paint work done.

Is that duct tape? If so, it will leave a sticky residue on whatever surface it touches!

I have the exact same issue with my Speciale. The nose was definitely repainted as there is white over spray from the stripe all over the nose and headlights. There is also a hand print under the clear coat. I'm working through the approval process as well.

Advice: don't expect Ferrari to do anything about.. they will tell you that a repaint might not be as good as what you have now but will be considered "commercially acceptable" and you'll have something worse than it is now.

My bigger problem is they completely got my seats wrong. I flew all the way to Italy to spec my car exactly they way I wanted it and they gave me the wrong seats. I'm waiting to hear if they will send me new seats but I really doubt they will.

$400K isn't what is used to be.
