I would think the dealer would love to buy it back , no ? Or are they not bringing that much over list ? I'm courious.
Dealer might give him MSRP back if the market is still holding. I saw at least 26 488's for sale this week.
Spiro , the question remains , is the market still holding. I'd love to know. Does anyone have experience with a sale back to the dealer ? Just wondering.
Don't have direct experience with a trade back, but I suspect the market is soft. I was offered a new Spider at MSRP that someone had back out of at delivery time. I have been quoted a wait time of one year for a new coupe build and 2 years for a spider.
Why, so you can copy his "For Sale" details and say...." GLWS" like you post in just about every for sale post. I'd be curious what % of your 3000+ posts do not contain a GLWS message.
Steve , I was wondering about a sale not a trade back. More like hey bro , here's a check for your car . Would a dealer still write a check on the spot for the car at list or over ?
At a high market, dealers will pay you msrp+tax. If it's a low market (20-30 over) you'd be lucky to get msrp. When they hit msrp then you'll be offered under for your car. Many 488 owners traded theirs in early. Dare I say more than it was with the 458...
Cars.com has 26 listed. I personally have 4 available. Many dealers don't advertise theirs so the number is way higher. There is definitely no shortage on supply
That is what I was thinking would happen. I was offered one at $35k over in May. They said I'd probably get at least MSRP on the car if I Sold in 6 months but no guarantees. I wasn't very certain Id get MSRP in 6 months so I Backed out. I didn't want to be one of those who paid $35k over and then lost another $20k or so in 6 months. Like Steven said, There are other cars for sale that are not even listed. My thoughts are the market is softening at this point.
Ah, I see. Thank you. Funny to see so many trade-in's so quickly. Are they less impressive in comparison to the 458 than the 458 was to the 430? Or maybe people prefer the spyder? I like the looks of these cars. Love to have a drive in one at some point.
The 488 is definitely a good car. Many traded in for a spider or just to keep the relationship going and let the dealer have premium. The jump from 430 to 458 was huge. Analog to digital. 458 to 488 was not as big. But that's the cycle. The 488 is the evolution of the 458 platform as was the 430 to the 360. The next model will be a whole new platform
I'll bet you couldn't get a check now for MSRP from a dealer today. If someone has gotten a check , not a trade or consignment for your 488 please post. Thanks.
40 over at dealerships at this moment. Have heard of a couple people getting cars offered at msrp. I personally haven't heard of any below 35k
I've been looking for the right 458 and was offered at coupe this morning at MSRP. It's built $311k sticker red car.
I always here that people are offered at MSRP but whenever I tried to find one or get the person to share the info it never materializes. I would be a buyer today at MSRP for the right option car and so would others so where are these cars?
