    Hi Guys,

My 2016 Cali T engine is a bit stuttery when cold. Any ideas what it could be or what I can check first?

Do they have ODB ports, I could plug a reader in to?

    TIA
    C.

    Its new to you?
Has it always done it? something new?
Do you pause from key on to pressing start a moment to let the car diagnostics finish setting up?
Do you know for a fact the battery is recent AND fully charged while not driving? As in kept on a battery tender.(Not the OEM charger)
Has the battery switch been off or low battery situation recently? May need a few driving cycles to smooth out?
Yes you can check for codes.
    Thanks

Is it just not smooth or does it seem like it is going to stall on you?
My Cali - albeit a T, so perhaps not relevant to yours - seems rough when I first start it up, especially if it has sat for a week or so.
But, by the time it is warmed up, everything is good to go. I would describe it more as "grumpy".
I just don't think these cars like running @ low RPMs and low speeds!

This also occurred on 2 Calis I test-drove.

Same rough startup for a minute or 2.....then all was fine.

Mine is a 2016 Cali T and it did the same thing.

I did a battery reset, followed the WSM procedures and the problem went away.

I have a post here about that including a copy of the factory battery power reset procedures.

    1) After a completely cold start,my Portofino stutters for a couple of hundred feet and then all is fine. My Subaru STi did the same thing. I attribute it to the tuning required to meet ever-stricter emissions standards during engine warm-up. If that is the only time your engine stutters, and you don't get CELs,don't worry about it.

    2) After turning on the ignition, don't start the engine until all of the instrument panel lights have stabilized.

Morning Guys, thanks for the replies.

It's just a little lumpy for the first couple of minutes and then it's fine. Sounds like nothing to worry about.

I'm sure on my 911 on cold start up, the idle is slightly higher than normal until the engine gets a little bit warm then drops. I thought the Cali would be the same.

I would just enjoy your Cali unless you find a code, get a message on the TFT screen, etc. Then perhaps mention it to your tech when she's next in for service. By the way, post some pics of your mighty steed. It's a fact, the more pics you have of your F-car, the better they behave!
