Our dear friend DF1 is on strike this week (some mention of inhumane working conditions on FChat), so is up to the peasants to do the hard labor. The weather might be up for causing some surprises (e.g. not a Mercedes 1-2). Some of the interesting stuff to watch out for: - How are both Rosberg and Hamilton keeping up under swapped roles. - Between Kimi, Vettle and Mad Max, who is going to have the upper hand for P4 - Since Williams keeps mastering the art to score a minimal amount of points, they are still fighting it out with Force India, what is going to happen there? My guesses Q: Ros - Ham - Ricci R: Ros - Ricci - Kimi This starting straight is never-ending and even a good Mercedes start is not as good as a mediocre RBR or Ferrari start. My prediction is that Hamilton gets chowed again and gets involved in some turmoil, resulting in the WDC being decided in Mexico. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A bold thought here....A Mercedes win and lots of tequila consumed around the circuit!! Mercedes preview the Mexico GP | PlanetF1 : PlanetF1
Agh, the FIA will make sure it's dragged out to the last...... I suspect it'll be elton, Nico followed by the rest in both race and qualy. Long as it's Nico who gets the championship, I don't care, but seeing Elton break down would be a great weekend bonus prize. He will probably blame the Mayan gods or the influence of the conquistadores knowing that fool
I can completely see this happening (not rooting for it....circumstances and fate just tend to point towards this occurring).
LH had great pace today. It will be alot of Mercedes traffic in front of the grid. Can Ferrari get on row 2. Nico needs to up his pace or he is in danger lol. The long straight lends to some serious risk taking. Pole matters but who gains speed and position down the main straight and wont yield in Turn 1 will be fun!
What is even worse is that they took away the spectacular Peraltada curve for this staduim like area.
Yes, the Peraltada was quite a challenging corner; even Senna got caught out ... Young Ricardo Rodriguez lost his life there. Maybe why they made it so safe now. I think they wanted to reduce the speed, but this "bowl" is very artificial and unspectacular; I also think the spectators there have a very restricted view.
Assuming to make the last two races interesting since at the moment nico is all but guaranteed to win
Because if Hamilton hadnt had all the mechanical issues this season he would be a leap and a bound ahead of the "Boring One"..
Nico's motor needs to blow or get taken out by a RBR or FCAR... The we will see some real racing the last few races.
Lol quite simply not true. He's had 1 DNF due to engine problems. He's had 2 further engine problems, both in quali. Once at China (started last) and once in Russia (started 10th). In China he got caught up in a 1st lap incident (not his fault), though a Safety Car helped gave him the 30 or so second deficit back immediately. In Russia at the faintest whiff of anything happen in T1, he took the much faster run off and nailed it across, and with Perez, Vettel and Kvyat all out he was 4th or 5th immediately. We all know of his engine going in Malaysia from the lead. Rosberg, on the other hand, has been unlucky as well. In Monaco, he had a brake problem from lap 1 onwards. In Canada, his teammate punted him off in the 1st corner which meant he dropped to 9th. In Silverstone, he had a gearbox software failure and in Malaysia he got punted off by Vettel. I'm not going to listen to drivel which claims that Hamilton ''would've won China and Russia if it weren't for his problems'' because that's based on opinion, not on fact. At worst, he'd have finished 2nd. Only for Monaco would Hamilton and Rosberg have fought for 2nd and 3rd, not 1st and 2nd. Red Bull threw it away, and Rosberg was ahead of Lewis during quali and the start. Malaysia Rosberg should've finished 2nd easily, but was set for 4th until Lewis' car failed. Even if Lewis' car didn't fail in Malaysia, he'd still be behind.
