He won 2 without Rice. How many did Brady win with Moss? And what's even better, have them name one HOF on those first two SF teams. Their 1st or 2nd SB was a rookie secondary, all 4 of them. A lot more than that. Remember those Joe Gibbs Redskins' teams, the Chicago Bears teams (which Montana beat on the road on his way to his 3rd SB), the LA Rams and Vikes were even decent back then.
You're joking, right? How does Brady do it, when Montana is 100x more athletic than Brady is and ever will be? Go look at the clips and watch how nimble Montana is when he ran with the football. Here you go: Montana: 457 rush attemps, 1,676 yards, 20 TD Brady: 532 rush attempts 940 yards 17 TD How many SB's did Brady win with Moss? How many pro-bowlers where on the first two SB winning teams, both WITHOUT Rice? Why only take a look at his SF days, why not look at what he did with a VERY mediocre KC team?
He didn't. Ironically, with Cincy having the most potent offense that season, that was a defensive game for most of the game, until the 4th quarter. Cincinnati scored the go ahead late in the game, then the 49ers got the ball back on their own 8 yard line with just over minute to go. You could see Sam Wyche on the sideline after the Cincinnati go ahead, he wasn't happy, and he wasn't comfortable, and he uttered the words "We left too much time on the clock for Joe" Precisely, Brady didn't win a SB with Moss, so what does that say? It says it doesn't matter who you have as receiver, you still have to deliver, which Montana (and Brady) did and does. Can we take the opposite approach? That Montana is better because he won with the best receiver but Brady didn't with one of the top 5 best ever receiver? No, of course not.
50 million of them tuned in solely to watch Lady Gaga. Another 50 Million tuned in for the commercials. 3 Million tuned in hoping to see the Patriots lose. The rest were Pats fans
Correct, Dan Quinn has final say, which is why the blame is all on Quinn. As soon as he hears KS order a pass play, he should veto that and tell him "Kyle I want 3 safe running plays then a FG, make sure the RB's stay in bounds, and remind Matty to milk the play clock." No way. Sunday's calls were a close 2nd place to Bevel, but Bevel/Carroll still take the take as the most idiotic SB play call ever. Speaking of which, I'll say the same here as I did about Quinn; when he heard Bevel call a pass, Carroll should have stepped in and said "no way, I want you to feed Marshawn Lynch here and see what happens". OR, at the very least, if you want to throw it, then have Lynch on the field and fake a hand-off to him, I guarantee you the ENTIRE NE defense would have sold out to stop Lynch, and the Wilson could have walked into the endzone without a NE defender within a mile of him or had a receiver wide open in the endzone for an easy pitch and catch.
I am not GaGa over GaGa. Does nothing for me. Watched a minute or two of eac song and then ff to the next. She was smart not to be political...everyone would have talked about that instead of her performance forever. Somebody gave her some good advice.
She made more catches than the NE receivers did in the first half....at least she held on to the ball when it was thrown to her
Goodell persona non grata in Boston. I don't understand how keeping Goodell as NFL Commissioner is good for the sport. He gets booed at the Super Bowl, booed at the draft... Now this https://www.boston.com/sports/super-bowl-li/2017/02/07/someone-left-a-two-word-message-for-roger-goodell-on-the-patriots-parade-route
PNH: Gary Bettman, Commish of the NHL has been getting soundly booed for at least 4 years in every NHL rink and event....ever since the lock-out. Goodell would not be doing this without the owner's backing. He lost Kraft a long time ago, but the other key decision makers - owners of ATL, DFW, NYG, Bears and Steelers - like him being the bad guy.
Good one Keith! I tuned in as a Pats fan and to see Lady Gaga (whose performance I liked). Did anyone else feel pretty let down by the commercials? I thought a lot of companies wasted a lot of money to air what was mostly crap. I thought the funniest one was Melissa McCarthy doing the environmental ad for Kia.
I should congratulate all of the Pats fans on here. My wife is a native of Revere, we lived in the Boston area for 3 years, and I have many friends there. It's funny, I embraced the Red Sox but always hated the Pats while living there. I suppose we'll all join in the speculation for next year, but I think we are in for even more parity (if that's possible).
Ridiculous has nothing to do with it. Brady can beat Andrew Luck, 100x out of 10, with his eyes closed, in his sleep, and both hands tied behind his back. No need to cheat. His integrity is in question, that's the whole issue. Remember when Brady walked off the field after the Giants handed them their only loss that season, which unfortunately for NE was the SB? Real classy.
Anyone else watching NFL network? They're replaying all of the NE SB's. I just finished watching the Stl-NE SB, now watching the CAR-NE SB
From Jason La Canfora - "The fact that Kraft called this fifth Super Bowl title "the sweetest" one yet ruffled feathers on Park Avenue at the league office and the image of Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia stepping off the team plane wearing a T-shirt depicting Goodell as a clown had some NFL executives seething." Looks like we lost another first round pick, but as usual at least it is one of the last picks in the round.
