Manufacturers that committed to FIA/ACO: Ferrari Ford Porsche Chevrolet BMW TBC: McLaren Lamborghini So in 2018 we hope to see 7 manufacturers in GTE Pro class, perfect! (that means less in AM...) BoP needs tweaking. FIA/ACO should work on that. Ferrari will "EVO" their 488 for next year. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is cheating. Ford spent a ton of money developing the GT (basically a prototype) as a racing car and then made a road car - none of which have been seen as yet. The rules say that the racing car needs to be a development of the road car and not the other way around. They then sand-bagged the ACO to (just) win Le Mans but are far from having won the Workd title yet.... Let's stick with the 488. The best is yet to come....
The old BPR times.....1996 Porsche built the 911 GT1 and in 1997 Mercedes built the CLK GTR. Both purpose built for GT1 as a prototype. McLaren modified their F1 GTR into the long tail but could not keep up with Porsche and Mercedes. ACO is interested only in hard cash for their organization. Since Audi came in 1999 a lot has changed around the track.... #bigmoney #sponsors #audieverywhere
