Over.... awesome season by Vegas but Washington beat them pretty soundly in 4 games. How will I survive with no more hockey until Oct????
I'll tell you a secret. When the playoffs started 2 things I thought scared me 1) the sharks 2) Ovechkin When the Caps went down by 2 against Columbus I thought it was going to be a break for Vegas. Throughout the cup series the Caps just kept getting better. Vegas, for whatever reason, never played as well as they did against the Sharks even though they beat Winnipeg.
They played a poor 3rd period. It seems like nerves got to them. Hard to say. For sure something is wrong with Karlsson.
The reason I said the sharks is because they pretty much battled Vegas well all year. They may have been not that strong but against Vegas they were a dangerous foe. They creamed the ducks. I was not scared of the Kings but I didn't expect a sweep. I thought there might be a let down after that -- and it almost happened. That series went 6,

Awesome game last night to finish up the Cup. Really hoped the Preds would’ve pulled their heads out of their proverbial ass when they made it into the second round. Until next season!
It was exciting to see Ovie last night like a child at Christmas. If anyone paid attention, when he was invited to get the SC by Bettman, he actually turned around and faced his team and riled them up before accepting the trophy. That proves he cares about them and still had the time to think about them in that pivotal moment of his career that he'd been waiting for and worked hard for all of his life. What a great teammate. No matter how much praise and credit the press gave him, he always replied with "we did it". Ovechkin imposed his will and dominance the entire playoffs and it rubbed off on everyone of his teammates. The notion that he needed to win a SC is ridiculous, but now that he has everyone who said that can eat crow. He has a very impressive collection of trophies, but the one he wanted the most and the one that has eluded him up until last night is now part of that collection. Congratulations Ovie, you truly are great
