The guy is probably quite relieved, hope he can sleep better at night after the debacle last year. Honda will get it sorted eventually...
More like a 3yr debacle. I'm sure he feels ashamed as is the case with Japanese corporate culture. Let's hope so. (getting sorted out)
I take that back....two yr. debacle as almost everyone had issues when they first came into this hybrid era their first year.
Sebastian Vettel plans to 'be wiser' in future Formula 1 seasons --- That's nice.....I guess. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/133483/vettel-plans-to-be-wiser-in-future
Is it interesting at all that Williams have seen fit not to announce at least ‘baby stroller’ in one of its seats?
Papa Stroll will make certain the announcement has Lance listed first.........then the new driver who will most likely outscore Lance no matter lol
DECEMBER 8, 2017 Kaltenborn questions decision to oust Wehrlein Monisha Kaltenborn has questioned Sauber's decision to oust Pascal Wehrlein. Earlier this year, the Swiss team parted with Kaltenborn and appointed Frederic Vasseur as its new boss. Vasseur has since scrapped Kaltenborn's decision to switch to Honda power, and replaced German Wehrlein with Ferrari junior Charles Leclerc for 2018. Kaltenborn now tells Auto Bild that although the Mercedes junior appears to be left without an F1 seat, Wehrlein is highly underrated. "I think his performance in 2017 is still not properly appreciated," she said. "Without him, the team would have scored no points at all. "I just hope that he will continue to get what he deserves in formula one, which above all else is a cockpit. "Pascal has the potential to become world champion with the right team. Anyone who has worked with him knows that," Kaltenborn added.
Williams still speculating Massa....yet again! Massa back on Williams shortlist Journalists close to Williams, though, has reported that the Pirelli Test has changed everything: while Kubica was fit, his pace looked good and he gave interesting insights into the development of the car, a lack of speed in qualifying pace raised some concerns. Is Kubica just not fast enough?, it’s the question Paddy Lowe is asking himself. A number of names have arisen since this summer: Sirotkin, di Resta, Werlhein, and Kvyat. Rumors from Italy brings a plot twist: Nicolas Todt is in talks to bring back Felipe Massa. We reported many times that Lance Stroll wants an experienced teammate, who can set his car up. Kubica, Sirotkin, and Werlhein are not team players. Kubica excluded, let’s analyse the Williams shortlist: https://motorlat.com/notas/f1/3373/massa-back-on-williams-shortlist#.WirMJMFYavJ.twitter AAAANNNNNDDDD Rowland claims Williams talks, team denies it Oliver Rowland's management says it is in talks with Williams regarding a race seat for 2018, but the Formula 1 outfit denies that is the case. Williams is currently assessing its options for the second seat alongside Lance Stroll in 2018, with Robert Kubica, Daniil Kvyat, Sergey Sirotkin and Paul di Resta in the frame. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/133500/rowland-claims-williams-talks-team-denies-it

https://it.motorsport.com/f1/news/ferrari-il-cuore-torna-a-essere-realizzato-soltanto-a-maranello-986997/ The technical collaboration with the Austrian AvL has been closed and the 2018 power units will be designed and built only in the Racing Department. And Wolf Zimmermann, head of the motorists, is no longer responsible for the power unit area. Because... The first news: Ferrari engines return to be designed only in Maranello. Second news: Wolf Zimmermann, the German who had left Mercedes AMG in October 2014 to arrive at the Cavallino engine department, is no longer responsible for the power unit area. Scuderia Ferrari has completed a reorganization within the engine department that saw Corrado Iotti from the GT area at the head of the heat engine working group. The head designer Lorenzo Sassi came out in the summer and now it's up to the German combustion specialist. Zimmermann, in fact, was the technician who took care of the partnership between Ferrari and the Austrian AvL in the last three years: now that the relationship of collaboration between the two companies was interrupted at the end of the agreement, it was necessary a reorganization of the staff, considering that the "Austrians" will no longer be there. But apparently this is not a great loss, given that the results that emerged from the Graz company, which specializes in the production of test benches, were not particularly exciting in terms of internal combustion. The collaboration was born as a result of the friendship that has long ties the two presidents, but Sergio Marchionne together with the technical director Mattia Binotto did not hesitate to change direction when it was clear that the development promised by Graz was not in line with the expectations of Ferrari. Knows something Lorenzo Sassi, the chief designer of 061, who had set a super-engine for 2018 that should have allowed the overtaking in terms of power on the Mercedes that this year has revealed a superiority over the unity of the Cavallino. An increase in power of over 40 horsepower is fabled, although the power unit has to extend its life to 7 Grand Prix, with only three units per season available for settlement. When Sergio Marchionne heard about the new heart of the Cavallino in such enthusiastic terms, he thought that the engine of next year could have played a very important role in the fight for the 2017 title. Let's not forget that Sebastian Vettel was at the top of the drivers' championship until the summer and the expectation of winning the World Championship title was more than justified, since the SF70H was the most advanced car from the point of view of the canvas and aerodynamic. The idea of the President, therefore, was to anticipate the debut of the 6-cylinder turbo 2018 at the Italian GP in Monza, approving this unit as the 4 engine of the 2017 season, hoping to recover the power that would have been lost with the reduction of the consumption of oil as a "additive" of 1.2 kg fuel per 100 km at the new limit of 0.9 kg. Recall that the Mercedes, with a "smart", had punched his engine 4 in Spa, before it took the constraint on the consumption of lubricant, so he could continue the season without having to meet the new consumption limits, up to the GP of Brazil when Hamilton preferred to replace the engine after a bang in qualifying Some "themes" for the development of the 2018 engine had been entrusted to the AvL and the results in terms of reliability were bad: other than a life of seven GPs as it was in the plans, the engine broke well before the four that would allow the approval . Mattia Binotto, therefore, found himself in a position to revise the plans in mid-summer on the subject of power units and, perhaps, better explain the breakages that came in the decisive phase of the championship (Suzuka and Sepang), when the ... neck to engine in specification 3 to try to counter the Mercedes superiority. The collapses of the compressor and the spark plug were not just direct causes of the breakages, but it was evident that Ferrari had to give a turn in the definition of the 2018 engines. And so it was. Ferrari has reappropriated the "heart" of Formula 1 by opening a new cycle: now Marchionne expects an engine that allows the Cavallino (and Alfa Romeo Sauber) to make an important leap in quality ...
Reason figures are up because Mercedes has had some competition instead of it being the ''Mercedes show + those other guys''.
This is the person that ruined Sauber and hired 4 drivers for 2 seats. She needs to look at her own track record instead of running her mouth about anyone else's.
Is Pirelli testing a snow/winter tire. We need to add more to the selection. Seems this venue would work today
