I notice that when a Ferrari wins, there is no recrimination about the lack of noise, and no condemnation of the hybrid formula.

You can draw your conclusion from that!!

LOL! Come on! It's already a publicly acknowledged problem that they have targeted for fixing. Banging on about it is just childish at this point.

Here, so you can feel normal:

The sound sucks. The engine formula sucks. We still love Ferrari.

This was the first race I have been able to watch this season and for once it was a good race!

The sound still sucks, the engines suck and yes I still love Ferrari! And to further note Ferrari winning is not why I thought it was a good race.

The first two were quite exciting as well when you compare it in the since this new formula has been introduced. Quite a bit of overtakes in all 3 IMO. Looks to be exciting going forward and close between the Scuderia and MB. Vettel cannot do alone though but only time will tell.

When ferrari wins, we have something to talk about more important than these sewing machine engines, but don't worry, we all still wish they had proper noisy v8/10/12 s in there too!

This year we have the beginnings of the first interesting season in four years...... let's not detract from Seb showing that he can try to channel a little Schumacher in his red ferrari.

I could care less what they sound like when I'm watching on TV, but when I go to the track I wanna hear NOISE !!!!

Maybe it's because I'm a child of the deafening band era and need them loud but without the sound I find it hard to keep attending GPs :(

    I know his reply ;)
    1.) Lewis on Friday
    2.) Lewis on Saturday
    3.) Lewis on Sunday
4.) Allways the current team mate of Lewis because otherwise it would not be the greatest achievement ever beating him...
Almost sounds like that when he calls his biased opinion "objective"...

Ricciardo verstappen Hamilton and alonso are all quicker than Vettel. Vettel is doing a good job this season though so I have no complaints

In your mind Kimi is god and Hamilton is average. Bottas got shown up big time but in your mind you make up that his engine was turned down because it fits your agenda. Common sense? All he had to do was stay within 5 seconds of Hamilton to retain second place but was already 10 secs behind after 7 laps or so. There isn't a shred of common sense in that opinion....

Whoever this toil guy is you seem pretty obsessed with him...

Skimmed the race. Happy Ferrari won. Still think the sound is awful and the cars look odd.

Still unhappy that so many can't build a competitive car or even a car that can finish the race. Still unhappy that there's not more overtaking. Very unhappy with the move Sainz made.

Altogether. Still bored. It's better because at least there's more than two cars racing for the top now, but it's still not as good as Moto GP.

Glad to see Vettel win, but I miss the sliding cars of 2014-2016.

These look like big giant boats struggling to make speed down the straights against the air.

    Say what!?

Cars are slow on the straights certainly with the added weight and aero, but first statement makes zero sense to me. Sliding these cars hasn't been the fast way around the circuit since the 60s, in other words - before aero and high tech rubber.

lol hamilton served his penalty in the pits so how exactly does bottas retain second place by staying within 5 seconds of ham....

Team ordered bottas to let Hamilton past before Hamilton stopped and wen it was thought he would do a one stop. At that stage bottas knew he had a penalty and only had to stick within 5 seconds. It transpires Hamilton stopped later anyway. FYI bottas was nearly caught by Kimi in the end too

Interesting read. So Hamilton lost 2 tenths on his qualy lap because his DRS wouldn't open? He makes it sound like a car fault. Any more info on that?

All I saw at the Bahrain GP is that the race was decided by tactics, and that the leader change didn't come about in a pass on the track. Apart from the first lap, there was hardly any wheel-to-wheel duelling among the leaders, in fact most of the action was among the back markers and the tail-enders.
I still don't think the Ferrari is faster than the Mercedes (as proven by their respective qualif times), although they are much closer than last year.
Tyre tactics still dictate the outcome of a GP, not pure driving skills or car superiority.

Could they, please, make Max Verstappen start last at every GP? He was spectacular to watch scything through the field, and provided most of the show in the early laps!!

And Alonso was also good to watch, in his low on power McHonda. It was hopeless, by Fernando fought like a tiger. Of course his PU went in a puff of smoke, but who cares at this point ?

I think it is fairly well accepted that Mercedes cranks up their engine to some über mode for Q3 that gives them a couple of tenth. From that, using Q3 as a reference for the faster car is flawed.

Who thought Lewis would not pit anymore??? Nobody and certainly not Bottas because he was on the same tyres in the same car knowing that they will not last to the end...And if Lewis had to manage the tyres to last until the end he would have not been able to pull away the way he did...Even Lauda said upfront that he does not think a one-stop is possible and certainly not for Mercedes as they use the tyres harder than the Ferrari, so do not construct a completely baseless story!!!

Well, why can't Ferrari "crank up" their engines too?

Grabbing the front row is important for a team that wants to win, no?

The starting position often determines the outcome of the race, and starting from pole gives an advantage.
