Unlucky with the safety car. But lucky about that Vettel didn´t get any penalty for starting out of position. What the hell was he doing?

Great race, best in a long time.
Hamilton and Merc deserved the win.
Max deserved driver of the day.
So many awesome passes. Seb round the outside of Dan at T6 (I think) was superb. No need for highway drs rubbish passing.
I think the new cars are forcing drivers to find skilled based ways to pass. Looks like we have the new cars to thank for the excitement. Not only do they look great but they are providing the best racing in years.
    Can't wait for Bahrain.

I am curious how much was actually left on Kimi's tyre.
They went on and on about it on TV that Kimi was the first to notify his team about tyres going down but he was the last to pit, costing him P3.
His team said on the radio that their systems tell him to finish the race on the tyre.
Was there any mention after the race how bad they indeed were? I can't see that being true with everyone having to come in and pit.

This. Ferrari has made a massive improvement in the car although I still think the Benz is a little better.

Yep he kept saying that there was no chance he'd be able to do a one stop but Ferrari refused to listen...they should've pitted him 5 laps early, he was so close to the RBR's he'd probably had a shot at P3 I reckon.

    +49 = 44 + 5. lol

It is good to see the guys on the podium getting along. Even better to have drivers from 3 different teams up there! It is shaping up to be a great season.

What a great race from Verstappen. His start wasn't actually that good as he was held up by a couple of drivers so only got 1 position....he made 8 (!) places on the first lap. Absolutely mind blowing. His ''whining'' on the radio was a leaf from Hamilton's book, an excuse IF he did get overtaken by Ricciardo.

Ferrari was unlucky with the SC but once again has proven they can only work one strategy at a time. Quite why they didn't pit Kimi in time is beyond me...so so late when they finally did and it cost them dearly. Idiots. Race pace is good, right there with Mercedes. If we weren't unlucky with the SC we *might* have won today. Bahrain will as usually be dry and Kimi/Vettel both go well there, I reckon first pole and another win!

RBR much quicker here than I expected, sure the damp would've helped but I think their race pace really is quite good. If there's another wet race before their upgrade they could well win a race....

Interesting race. Nice clean race by Mercedes. Ferrari have the pace lack the overall strategy and luck today. Max....great driver and a big mouth about Grosjean. Useless and needless to whine. His only concern should have been Ricci and Brundle pointed that out clearly. Red Bull faster than I thought they would be.

Ferrari will need a bit of luck still to beat Mercedes and by that I mean LH. One more clean win with Bottas 3 or more spots back and its his team and is for the most part now.

Kimi....I have no idea but his Ferrari karma is lacking. They either dont like him that much or they just want him on the radio to say cool things that end up on tshirts. He needs to go...again....Its Vettels team much like Mercedes is for LH unless either team mate step up the heat on LH and Vettel.

More passing that I thought there would be. I expect less in Bahrain and just maybe the warm temps will favor Ferrari there.

Whos the whiny ***** now? Jesus... I love Max... I do...but that was pretty pathetic to complain about a car 10 lengths or more ahead of you. One maybe... But four or five times? Did he want Gro just to pull over? C'mon.

People call Ham a whiner (never really understood that all that much) but i think Max may have taken that trophy from him in China.

    Beyond all that...nice race.

Ferrari should have told Kimi to step aside and let vettel pass instead of fighting him for so many laps.

Giovinazzi may be the biggest loser in China. He did not help himself at all by destroying two cars in two days with a cash strapped Sauber team. He went from hero to zero pretty quick and did the impossible...making Sauber fans want Wehrlein back.

no yet. It was treacherous conditions and an odd exit he had. I give him another chance to shine next week.

True but rather than solidifying his worth...he caused questions about it. Worse...he'll have even more pressure on him next week.

..but, there WERE passes made ON TRACK, not in the pits.

So, I give it a 7/10 mainly for Vettel's moves and...

Kimi taking a leaf out of Vettel's book trying to sort out strategy:

Quite unbelievable that with all the ****ing data Ferrari has they need their driver to tell them they should box, HE is working out that they're losing 3 seconds a lap!

Why they always keep him out on used tires is beyond me. I always think, are they running him to the end, but no, they call him when it's too late. Don't know how many times they've done this with him!

Looks like some heat is coming down on Kimi -

Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne wants his Formula 1 team to sit down for talks with Kimi Raikkonen after the Finn's second consecutive difficult race in the Chinese Grand Prix.

While Ferrari's car proved a match for main rival Mercedes this season, Raikkonen has yet to finish on the podium - although he pointed out that his strategy compromised his race in China.

Marchionne expressed some frustration with the failure of Raikkonen to get past Daniel Ricciardo in the early stages of the race, at a time when Vettel was also behind him.

As well as this costing both Ferrari drivers time, Vettel was able to overtake Ricciardo shortly after passing Raikkonen.

"I talked about this with Maurizio," said Marchionne.

"Maybe they should sit around a table and he should talk to him.

"Today he seemed to be busy with other stuff. Vettel was more aggressive."

When asked if it was fair to suggest that the 2017 Ferrari F1 car is more comfortable for Vettel than it is for Raikkonen, Marchionne said: "Absolutely no."
