Yep, lol. Both Hamilton and Bottas where 2 tenths each faster than the Ferrari drivers. Perhaps the Merc is about 2 tenths faster on a single lap...or is that too logical and doesn't play well into the hands ''HAM IS GOD''?
Didn't Vettel get outqualified by Kimi last season? In turn, Kimi outqualified massa as team mates. Massa got destroyed by alonso...and alonso got outqualified by Hamilton in his rookie year. As much as I love Vettel and want him to take Ferrari to victory this year I don't think he is near the 1 lap pace of Hamilton. Race pace they are probably a lot closer
Do you think Senna would have only won 12-9 against Rosberg in Qualy like Lewis did last year? I doubt...
Hahaha, I love comparisons over more than a decade using both Massa and Raikkonen as reference...Makes this almost an academic chain of evidence This....
Try this on for size. Very interesting quotes from mark Hughes So engineers who have worked with senna alonso and Hamilton say Hamilton is the driver to do things no one else is able to do. Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/lewishamilton/comments/64n3s9/mark_hughes_on_lewis/ Some VERY interesting stuff in there. Encourage you all to have a read of the entire thread not just the OP.
And then on another point though, I've spoken to team members at ferrari, mclaren and the odd Mercedes person, and the vast majority have respect for eltons driving, but none for him as a person or team member. In fact, lots think elton the man is a tool. It's all just opinion I guess
Elton is fast but nothing extraordinary...back in his Mclaren days Kimi would smoke him between naps.....so wouls The Massa of 2008 and 2009. I belive Seb is also quicker then him, and i would say Ricci as well.
this is annoying. You misquote an article to mislead people to think something was a journalists opinion while it was an engineer's (of Mercedes) statement. Then you come with some story on the immense ability of Hamilton. This begs the question how he got beaten by Rosberg convincingly last season.
Just look at what LH is saying now - Trains harder and does more technical education/training. Thats why he lost last year. Beaten by the smarter driver. Maybe not the fastest.
Read the thread. No doubt he's a very good driver but it's all jumping to conclusions isn't it? Lowe for instance, hasn't worked with Schumacher. He hasn't worked with Vettel. He's not worked with Verstappen or Ricciardo. It's on the drivers HE's worked with. Simple as that. Keyword on Lowe's statement ''OCCASIONALLY''. Occasionally he did things that they thought wasn't possible. Plenty of very good drivers have done great things occasionally. IMO, Schumacher, Senna and Verstappen have done these things already far more than on occasion. Button's quote is interesting. 'If ever Lewis works out how to get the best from himself and the engineers, the rest of us might as well go home.'. However Hamilton is pretty damn vulnerable mentally. Like Alonso, he couldn't accept it that Button was beating him in the same equipment. When his ''girlfriend'' wasn't there or they where broken up, he was miserable in the car. And here's the thing, also a point that Maulaf raises...IF Hamilton is the greatest thing ever, how come Rosberg was so damn close all the time? How come Rosberg DID beat him to a championship? Surely that makes Rosberg one of the greats as well, and if it doesn't, surely that means Hamilton is not as great as we're being told? I've no doubt, never doubted in fact, that Hamilton is a seriously impressive driver. BUT, he's not the greatest.
Last seasons were all about the car ..dunno what percentage but i would guess at least 80+%.The remaining input 20%? from the driver. So basically virtually any current F1 driver ,ok with maybe a few exceptions, could have battled it out at the front in that MB. This season it looks like no car has such a huge advantage over the rest, so now it come's down more to the skills of the drivers.
Mauluf, I am not misquoting anything. Marks comment about Hamilton being able to do things even senna could not is something he posted down in the comments in response to someone who posted on his article. It's great insider knowledge from a respected source who is close to te heart of f1. He mentions engineers (plural). The paddy low quotes are published so are much more polished, the quote I posted is Mark talking off the cuff. Surprised you are all so quick to question what I thought was such an interesting read. Can learn so much from telemetry. I found the JB stuff interesting too: Hamilton is very consistent now and doesn't make mistakes like the Lewis of old. He's matured into a formidable driver. I am a big fan of rosberg and think he is very quick. He beat Schumacher convincingly too. Such a loss to the sport that he is gone. Real gentleman too. I don't think hamilton is the greatest but I understand those who do. In my view he's one of the greatest but I'll let his career progress and evaluate when he retires. I belong to a lot of f1 forums and it's only on here that he's hated so much (makes sense when he's ferraris biggest threat I suppose). I try to be open minded with all drivers and f1 news or analysis I hear.
Er, try to rap? Wear earrings? 'cause he is ******, like numerous celebrities* Pete * unlike other nobodies (celebrities) Elton actually achieves something so should IMO stop trying so hard and just chill and be a normal person
What forums? I'm on a lot of them too and opinions of Ham are about the same everywhere lol. Hell my company is London based and even all of them hate him. Solely based on how he acts and his ****** rapper persona. For those that know baseball Ham is the ARod of F1.
