    If you don't drive them back to back, how would you even know the difference?

    The cars are more or less identical for 99% of driving.

    Other than the GT having a glass roof, the S having Carbon Ceramic Brakes, the GT having softer suspension, the GT having a quieter exhaust, the S having a quicker steering rack, the GT having a more luxurious interior, oh and the glass hatch of course... Yes they'll drive the same

    As I said, if you just go buy a 570S GT, it will be no different than if you just bought a 570S. If McLaren lied and told you they were the exact same aside from the body, you'd never know.

    You don't get to take home both cars and swap back and forth, so if you want a 570S in the GT body, just buy the GT. It's almost identical in performance and dynamics. They say it understeers more... riiiiiight. I can't think of the last public road on which I experienced understeer that wasn't covered in ice. Suspension is a little softer? How would you know if it was softer or just driving on a smoother road? Quicker steering rack in the 570S? Just turn it a little more.

    Like I said, unless you take them back to back on a track to observe and feel the differences, and maybe even measure them with instruments, you'll never actually notice it. Some people say a 650S is massively better than a 12C, others say the difference isn't even noticeable.

    When I drove the 570S, I couldn't even tell that the traditional suspension was massively different than the 12C hydraulic suspension. The road felt exactly how it always feels -- a little bumpy at times, a little smooth at times, very bumpy occasionally, and very smooth occasionally.

    I drove one of the 570GTs a few weeks ago. It was absolutely fantastic! The 570S (I own one) already has a beautiful interior but the 570GT takes it up a notch. The gorgeous leather work in the rear, combined with the panoramic glass roof (surrounded by alcantara beams) and the big back window really gives the cabin a fantastic feeling. It's also beautiful to drive. Same amazing steering feel and same great engine as the 570S in a slightly softened package that makes you want to drive it for hours and hours.

    I think McLaren was smart to make both variants of 570. The S is definitely more sporty and a little harder edged and the GT is more luxury but still every bit a super-fast sports car and every bit a modern McLaren to drive.

    I say "modern McLaren" because the last few McLaren models (P1, 675LT and 570S/GT) have really up'd their game in terms of being cars with great "feel" and emotion. They've always made well-engineered speed machines but with these latest models they've ripped off their ties, rolled up their shirt sleeves and ruffled up their hair and they're making really, really fun-to-drive cars now. Not only did the 675LT establish a new record on the Top Gear test track but they reviewers are all raving about how rewarding it is to drive which it truly is.
