Great result with the Duke 1st again. Bloody Jack, how do you fall off in the dry and doing well in 10th.
Dovi is a real surprise this year, I was concerned that maybe they let the wrong rider go last year, but this put him only 7 points down. Wish Marquez could have taken Pedrosa a little quicker, I doubt he would have won, but a bit of a fight at that point of the race could have really changed the outcome with tyre wear. Hopefully Zarco pulls a factory ride soon, I think he could contend, even now he's pretty high up: 1 Maverick VIÑALES Yamaha SPA 111 2 Andrea DOVIZIOSO Ducati ITA 104 3 Marc MARQUEZ Honda SPA 88 4 Dani PEDROSA Honda SPA 84 5 Valentino ROSSI Yamaha ITA 83 6 Johann ZARCO Yamaha FRA 75 7 Jorge LORENZO Ducati SPA 59 8 Jonas FOLGER Yamaha GER 51 9 Cal CRUTCHLOW Honda GBR 45 10 Danilo PETRUCCI Ducati ITA 42
If my boy did not punt him off earlier in the year, Dovi would be leading the Championship In the Italian press Dovi said it was the first time he was NOT even pushing, just riding around fast and a easy no-brainer win, if so WOW

I'm sure Steve wishes Rossi all the best https://www.motorsport.com/motogp/news/new-yamaha-chassis-better-for-my-style-says-rossi-918104/
Dovi leading the championship was not something I think I expected to see. Great run by Rossi, but my god that was a hell of a late run by Crutchlow.
That spastic on the Suzuki cost Petrucci a shot at winning,,,,MOVE OVER!! Bravo Rossi, and Dovi hit the front,,,,,,game on!
What a great race and a great win! Changing conditions had me on the edge of the seat! Amazing that Rossi hasn't won in over a year!!
+46 We all love the Doctor! Totally mesmerising pure artistry - unlike the crash & stumble fest of the Baku F1. Azerbaijan FFS - the history of F1 trashed by the nasty greed of a revolting little man called Bernie. And next year Liberty want to have 25 races... I often wonder how it is that a sport that gets such big audiences (105,000 people at Assen) of passionate fans and offers such exciting viewing, seems to live in the shadow of F1, which is so contrived and so often fails to live up to the pre-race hype.
I agree completely, MotoGP has so much good talent right now, and even the "lower" level bikes can compete, it (and Moto3) are the best racing you can watch. I must also say, that if you wonder why MotoGP stands in the shadow of F1, I feel for WorldSBK living in the shadow of MotoGP. Great racing on the 1000cc (or whatever Ducati feels like making) production bikes with great talent (obviously generally not of the MotoGP level), but it is barely watched in comparison.
Hey Steve... Funny story http://www.bikeme.tv/index.php/first-time-i-see-back-markers-many-years-bringing-back-yes/
Another race, another Aprilia engine lunch itself, and they keep dropping the rev limit, that does not seem to have worked, they cannot fault it in the lab/dyno. FORZA APRILIA!!
I am on the move, in Italy next week, see if i can find out NFI, other than the lab is no race track substitute, and they are not saying, still, they made massive inroads this year, very happy for them, esp. with the brain drain they have had to cover, and the fact its really a one bike, one rider, one team only, doing it the most difficult way They will reach the top step, i have no doubt of it, its brutal out on the track, seasoned players have no mercy!!
