    Even with all the purists here complaining the past few years about the state of F1, I’ve very much enjoyed the 16-17 seasons and was looking forward to 18. But after seeing the halo’s and onboard views today, that’s the no longer the case. They have all the ingredients for a very exciting year and they go screw it up with that. One of my favorite things about watching F1 are the onboard views. Not anymore. Would rather watch these drivers battle it out in go karts. Disgraceful

    If F1 is smart, they'll have everyone remove the halos before the race tomorrow. Considering the very slim chance that a halo would improve a driver's survivability in the event of an accident, the negative visual appeal is just too damaging to the sport's image.

    Unlimited hydroplanes have been using canopies (made from the same material as those for F-16s) since 1986, and I have never heard a complaint about visibility or dizziness from any of the drivers.
