Are people just stupid? Again, the MEDIA are falling all over themselves in trying to tell teams (and us) which QB's will land where. News Flash: The QB's this year are OK, none really awesome, and guess what: NEXT YEAR there will be QB's, too! Cleveland doesn't NEED a QB THIS YEAR. The Jets don't NEED a QB THIS YEAR. Neither does Buffalo, Denver, Minnesota. Who does NEED a QB? Arizona. Unless you think Bradford will last an entire season (Don't bet your winter home in Scottsdale on it). Miami MIGHT need one. Cleveland needs to take Barkley, because i doubt Carlos Hyde will last a season, and he's not a workhorse. If not Barkley they need to bolster their defense.
Writers have to write. And, what do you football writers write about most? Quarterbacks! So yeah, rarely does the hype equal reality.
Tom. Eagles adding to defense, subtracting from offense. Plus they need two kickers. I think they'll sign a top notch O-lineman or two prior to opening day. Might need a back-up TE. Their front seven on defense is going to be terrifying.
I agree. Plus with Joe Thomas retiring they have that huge hole to fill. Dorsey SHOULD be able to draft a great team, plus, don't forget, they had something like 80 million in cap space, not sure what Tyrod Taylor took from that, if much. I think Tyrod will get beat up a little, hopefully whoever the backup QB is will do well enough. We know Carlos Hyde won't last a season - he never has before, not when he has been the feature back.
Yes - look no further than Denver and Cleveland with Brock Osweiler (well, at least Cleveland realized he is useless and dumped him) Also the Vikings with Cousins. Also Arizona with Bradford. Also Chicago giving Glennon $18 million, then benching him, then cutting him. And all the garbage QBs on an NFL roster, while Kaep remains a victim of collusion. Also Belichick with his decision to bench Malcolm Butler. Also Belichick decision to trade Garapallo for only a 2nd rounder. I can go on, but you know the rest....
I was hoping Thomas would return so the Browns wouldn't be looking for a LT. With Nate Solder gone, my Pats also have to fill that position, and we're much, much lower on the draft pecking order.
Most improved teams after (OK, I know it's not over . . . ) free agency? As a BEARS fan, I like what I see here: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000922619/article/bears-vikings-browns-improved-most-in-nfl-free-agency-period
Here in Cleveland the only evidence that we would take Barkley is new GM John Dorsey saying when it comes to best available on his draft board, he never, ever has left his board. Outside of that tidbit, there is no talk or alternative evidence that we're taking Barkley. For everyone playing GM saying we shouldn't take a quarter back, you would be run out of town so fast. Last 2 years we passed on Wentz and Deshaun Watson with that mentality. Oh by they way, let's not forget this jersey; this is the bullcrap we've had to deal with since 1999. There are 5 more QB's listed that didn't make this photo including us just dumping last year's QB pick DeShone Kizer. We hired this new front office to find us a QB, end of story. I don't usually pay too much attention to the NFL draft but a local player (linebacker Leighton Vander Esch) has been invited to attend the ceremony, indicating he will be drafted quite high. I'm looking forward to watching the draft and his journey into the NFL and CTE.
I think ALL of us know Osweiler was a BAD DEAL, Cousins was waaaay overpaid for, Bradford has knees that rival Joe Willie Namath, Glennon was a joke, Kaep we all know why, in short, we ALL knew what was going to happen in these situations before they became situations. Minnesota won't win an NFC championship. Draft order is usually not a problem in New England. If you are from or in Riggins, PM me.
I hope the BEARS go defense, defense and then . . . DEFENSE! Especially secondary in the high rounds.
Does anyone have a link to a mock draft that you've found accurate of the years? Or, at least close??

^It'll be interesting to see how the QBs work out down the road. I have not seen any articles that claims that they're the top talents, but teams get into desperation mode when they feel they don't have a franchise QB. Every article I can recall seems to have Nelson, Chubb and Barkley as the top talents. T
Seems one OC has serious doubts about Lamar Jackson: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2772458-nfl-oc-lamar-jackson-will-not-be-able-to-play-qb-at-pro-leve
I predict that Johnny Manziel declares himself re-eligible for the draft and the Browns take him with their number 1 pick!
LOL. They nab Saquon Barkely # 1, if they are smart, and whichever QB is left over @ # 4, again, if they are smart. But, they are the Browns, so your scenario is more likely than mine! T
I agree with your analysis Tom. I think Dorsey does bring some sanity to the team, if, IF, he can get Haslam to butt out of it.
Yes. And no pressure. To BEARS fans, all he has to do as be as good as Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary or Brian Urlacher. That's all . . . But, yeah . . . After Quentin Nelson was picked, the only O player I thought would be great for us, I'm very happy with Raquon Smith.
Yeah, didn't think Nelson would make it that far down. Would have been nice option to protect Trubisky. T
Leighton neck injury to Dallas. To replace a player cheapskate Stephen Jones let go in FA. Yeah.... great way to run a team you dumb mother ****er. 2-12 go dallas.... yeah
