First time Ferrari buyer. This car has been sitting at Ft. Lauderdale for almost 6 months. It’s missing lift, sport exhaust, carbon fibre interior bits. They won’t budge on price. How much better is sport exhaust? Is it a must have? Also offering bumper warranty for 2 years for $6300. That’s his cost. Standard seats, but might track it once in a while I am looking at a 2018 in Tampa.

This is the other one I am looking at. It does have yellow calipers which I like better and has more carbon fibre and sport exhaust. I actually spoke to the owner of this car and said it’s in very good shape.

Which would you go for and why? In the long term say 3 years from now, which will be the better buy?

The sport exhaust from Ferrari is purely cosmetic, it's just different exhaust tips AFAIK.
Both cars seem very similar in terms of equipment, the first has a little more miles but it's a 2019, so for me it's a better value for money since it is less expensive.

If its the same as my 458, the Sports Exhaust option is just different exhaust tips (they are a black / charcoal colour rather than the normal silver). They don't affect sound in any way.

For me, the 2018. I love that Bianco Avus color and the additional options are worth the premium over the 2019.

Don't be afraid to buy cars out of state and have it shipped. Also, the Ferrari ext power warranty is worthless. Don't waste your money on it.

tough call. I like the rosso over yellow brakes and the carbon fiber caps to the yellow caps, but since you like yellow better the exterior goes to the 2018. For the interior, the 2018 Daytona seats are much more attractive to my eye, and the central bridge carbon fiber is a must. On the other hand, the 2019 has the premium sound system, which is another must, so guess it would depend which one you care more about. There is also an additional 15k for the 2018 and it is a year older. So, the car itself is a toss up. I would probably go with the dealer I liked better and/or was closer to my house to start a relationship.

Yes tough call. I am out of state buyer. Wide world Ferrari said the calipers can be painted $3200. Don’t know if the car would like funny with red stitching interior and yellow calipers.

Does anyone know if you can get aftermarket interior cabin carbon fiber for the dash. Ferrari does sell it 8k installed,

I think Ricambi do good quality carbon bits.

Sport exhaust is just the exhaust pipes tips; nothing else.

As a past owner of a 2017 488 Spider I would buy the 2019. Better price and after you drive it for a while the interior carbon fiber bits won't really be a noticeable big deal for you. Perhaps they will throw in the warranty if you offer full price for the car. That is not an uncommon dealer practice.

You can always change minor cosmetic accessories; however, the over all condition and care of a 6-7 year old car can't ever be changed. I would go with the car that has been maintained properly and change the accessories to your liking over time. Also, shop nationally to increase your selection. All the best.

I bought my 2017 488 Spider in January and love it. First thing I did was change the fluids, DCT, gearbox, engine oil, and brake fluid flush. It's essential for these fluids to be changed on a 7 year old car.

I like the color, but good observation on the buttons. It must of been baking in the sun. The buttons on my 2017 with 10,000 miles look and feel new.

FWIW , my old 488 spider is still for sale at F Tampa. It’s Nero Daytona and was a great car with no issues when I owned it.
Disclaimer : I have no affiliation with the car.

the warranty they are offering for 6300 is NOT a bumper to bumper warranty
it is a Power15 warranty and with very, very specific coverage and exclusions

THIS. The Power15 warranty is worthless. Don't waste your money. Just save it and self insure for any issues.

Food for thought 2018 would be having its last free service this year.
The 2019 would have 2 years but because its a 2019 it might not get the free oil change as Ferrari changed its policy Feb 2019.

IMO either car insist on a Full factory warrantee . This way at least you can claim everything and anything that could go wrong in that year.

Its no longer Power 15 BUT Power 16 as the full warrantee can go to the 8th year now.

488 are a plenty. Get the best deal for yourself, Like I said insist of Full Factory Warrantee.

BTW make sure all recalls were done

Extending th full factory warranty is not possible once the 3 year period has expired.
All that is available from Ferrari is the Power15 limited warranty

There is no Power 15 , its Power 16 now. I wanted the power warrantee however I was told I had to get the 8th year full warrantee.

I can sell my car with a full factory warrantee on a car that is 7 years old. Everything is covered.
