I think from the outside the biggest issue with Ferrari is clear...the responsibles for team strategy during the race weekend must change, they have been screwing for years. Inaki rueda, and compay suck. Get some competent guys and things will improve dramaticaly

Ps Mattia, if you don't know who to hire look no further, you can take your pick right here on the f.1 section, i'm pretty sure that at least 70% of the guys around here can pull a better job!

    Agree with the 1st paragraph.

Not so sure about the second though ...

And who's fault is that if the other teams can't catch up ?

It's a bit simplistic as explanation.

The team principals, generally consulted by the FIA (like Ferrari, Red Bull, McLaren and Williams) have never put any sort of complaint on this subject.
I don't see this "conspiracy" theory being commented in the motoring media.
It's only on FC that I see mention of an alleged plot between Mercedes and the FIA to hijack the championship .

    I just don't buy it.

Well, the other teams would have raised strong objections if they suspected that the game was rigged in Mercedes' favour, don't you think?
I have never heard an accusation coming from them.
As I said, it only on the F1 forum on F/C that I hear these accusations.

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/143129/villeneuve-leclerc-signing-too-early-for-ferrari - Interesting assessment from JV

Jacques Villeneuve says Ferrari promoted Charles Leclerc one year too early because it is not ready to manage the competition between the Formula 1 driver and his team-mate Sebastian Vettel.

Leclerc came close to victory in the Bahrain Grand Prix and has been subjected to team orders in favour of Vettel three times this season.

Ferrari's season has been made more challenging by the fact its pre-season promise, in which it looked the pick of the field, was then followed by four consecutive Mercedes one-twos.

Villeneuve stressed that Leclerc was ready to graduate to Ferrari but that his form has unbalanced Ferrari.

"Leclerc is quick, he personally is ready," Villeneuve told Autosport. "It's Ferrari that's not ready for this kind of situation.

"If you take Leclerc's perspective, it's great to be there this year, for him it's amazing, and he's shown that he's super quick."

Villeneuve added that Ferrari could have delayed Leclerc's arrival in the team in favour of an approach similar to Mercedes.

"They [Ferrari] already had Leclerc, so they could have given him a contract for 2020 and '21, and kept Kimi for just one year because this was the year to fight," he said.

"Then everybody's happy because you give them time in advance, it doesn't unbalance anything.

"But the way Ferrari operates, the way Seb is, he needs this kind of love around him, and it was just not the right move.

"Look what they did at Mercedes, and look how strong it is this year. If they had put [Esteban] Ocon there, Lewis would have reacted the same way - he would have wanted to eat him alive straight away, and destroy him.

"But there's respect with Bottas, and even if they both have two victories, Lewis doesn't seem to be upset about it.

"That wasn't the case with Nico for example, and that really allows the team to perform at a level that it almost hasn't performed at before."

Vettel's recent mistakes have been criticised and the four-time F1 world champion explained he is not fully comfortable with the 2019 Ferrari.

Villeneuve says criticism of Vettel is having an impact on Ferrari.

"If you listen to any fan or go on the forums, even the qualifying accident, Leclerc doesn't get criticised," he said.

"If it had been Vettel, he would have been destroyed by the media and everyone, for the same mistake.

"Ultimately I think that's having a negative effect for the team.

"Seb's spin in Bahrain came because of that, then the team orders in China, it all comes from there. And Leclerc's accident in qualifying also, wanting to prove that he's the number one of the team.

"Ultimately that's damaging the whole team.

"I hope it rebalances out, because they should have been the one that's being chased by Mercedes, and instead they've got three podiums, and that's it."

What if it isn't Vettel who leaves Ferrari...but Leclerc? I think Mercedes would give him a seat tomorrow. So would RB. And the way the season is going for Ferrari, they may find themselves in fourth place behind McLaren. At this point, Leclerc doesn't need Ferrari, they need him.

Sorry but the only way Ferrari is going to finish behind Mclaren is if they skip the rest of the season...and even then.....

I can't see him leave either. Mercedes unless Hamilton exits this year on presumably a high, and they want someone to carry the team forward the next X years, will sure try to make him an offer or Verstappen. Red Bull won't pay overs although them not having anyone in the pipeline right now might hurt them next year if they can race for both titles.

And would Leclerc really swap Ferrari for either? He's been Ferrari since day 1, really. I can't see it.

It's too early in his career to make a sudden move, IMO.
But if the Scuderia doesn't improve within a few years, probably Leclerc will be tempted to look somewhere else.
I hope for his sake that he will not sacrfice his talent for Ferrari.

I think he's in a decent spot now. MB is tied up until LewHam retires. RBR will not allow him to race Max. This leaves only Ferrari until a top seat opens up.

[it.motorsport] Ferrari will introduce a new front and rear wing at the SpanishGP with the goal to increase the aero load to find a good balance that allows the car to transfer the necessary energy to the tyres.

Amazing how few points the minnow teams have this year. 64 points at #3 and 18 at #4. Ferrari need to thank their lucky stars RBR only have one driver this year, otherwise they'd be third.

Arrivabene's problem was not putting his foot up asses that needed to be kicked. Namely, SV and the pitwall crew. Other than that, he was fine. He managed the operation that was a pretty fat mess before he came along...and ended up with a #1 car in a short amount of time.

The pitwall is worse under Binotto. Dumb decisions at every race this year with no indication they've learned anything from their many mistakes.

His "stock" right now is high.

This is me but knowing what I know now with Ferrari, I would go rogue and dominate Vettel.

You can tell by his radio msgs that he is having to restrain himself and keep calm.

Who is Leclerc's manager? Nicholas Todt?

Binotto's tactic to favour Vettel may be challenged before long.
