this seems to be garnering alot of attention when the W10 was out on the test track.....a double bracket (push rod assembly)???? in the front suspension.
It's not that straightforward though - the car is not simply "300 gms" lighter now by using matte paint, because the car will be (presumably) under the minimum weight anyway. In reality all they have gained is "300 gms" of positional ballast. The gains are so negligible that it not worth making the car look so miserable, imo (especially when their main rivals are in a shiny silver car.) If nothing else, a Ferrari should be a stylish, beautiful red.
Good point but we don’t know if the car would have been overweight with the regular paint or if it needs a ballast at all.

Judging by Vettel's performance the last two years, Ferrari have a surfeit of ballast in the driver seat.
Last 2 years? What did he screw up in 17? Car clearly wasn’t the best then and really wasn’t the best last year either. I’m no Vettel apologist, but I really think people are a bit irrational with all the hate on Vettel. He is far from perfect but i don’t think he is as bad as people like to say around here.
Agreed, if Vettel had been driving a Mercedes he could have been the WDC every year 2014-now. Hoping this year is different and that Ferrari and Red Bull are better than the Mercedes, not confident that will be the case just hoping.

I agree, never really had the fastest car...and he needed to take extra risks to get ahead. He couldn't afford to finish behind Elton after Germany (didn't blame him for that and never will), but he made some questionable moves in his attempt to get ahead... The spins where bizarre, to say the least. I genuinely believe that a more levelheaded guy (like ricciardo) would've kept the championship alive until the last race, at least. A win, with the cars development going wrong (grazie Maurizio), was going to be almost impossible.
the cracks started to show in 2017...hamilton himself was quoted as saying he is enjoying seeing vettel show so much weakness. One only needs to look back to what happened in baku, mexico, singapore etc which he then followed up in commanding fashion w huge, amateur-hour-type blunders in 2018. If Leclerc shows him up this season, well...

Hamilton is one to talk...it's easy leading from the front with an enormously strong car. How many times has hamilton cracked under pressure before he got into this car? **** even with this car and someone like Verstappen is ahead of him he starts cracking.
