My wife and I plan on attending the F1 race this year is Austin.

Can anyone make a recommendation for a hotel?
We would rather have one where transportation to the track is available.

Also, any other Ferrari or F1 events during that weekend?

    Thanks

If you are a member of FCA we have a dinner event that weekend. Also the Porsche club and FCA do a joint thing at Franklins BBQ that is worth every penny. Not crowded and you get all you can eat of the best BBQ around. Sorry, no help on the downtown hotels.

    Interesting.
I was a long-time member of the FCA but I have not renewed for several years.
I would consider renewing for a decent event.

    Thanks

    Hi,
I work as Volunteer at COTA

As Brian says the FCA dinner at the Austin Country Club is a "do not miss"...Andy Fish on Facebook is the Hill Country Chapter president, ticket purchase is kind of wonky thru their website.

Hotels, well downtown is twenty miles from the track, ok??
So, the Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop is actually the "closest" if that's your target

I stay with old friends or if they are throwing things at each other (or me) I use the Holiday Inn Express off of South Lamar and Hwy71, which is actually in Pleasant Valley, not Austin.

If money is no object (all the downtown venues up the rates that weekend, the Driskcoll is the finest, but newer ones are now open.

There's also RV and tent camping, I have met Fchatters in an RV and taken them "Back to town".....hope all this helps, it's a great event.
Gonna be hard to top the 2018 results for the red cars...

Downtown shuttle buses are a delay, any taxi or Uber can get you to the track where at a designated point you are dropped off, then catch a COTA Tram ride on in to the Grand Plaza.

Or, my black Cadillac will be on South Congress and I roll right in to the COTA Parking.
I give folks rides in and out all the time.

Just realized the Holiday Inn Express is in Sunset Valley, my error.

Just west of South Lamar on Hwy 71, with is a direct and quick drive back to the COTA in the morning.
Lost Pines is probably nicer but have never stayed there.

I pay for good parking and drive myself. I can’t imagine waiting in a line to get on a bus with 60 other tired and sweaty people after a long day at the track. I wait in traffic on the way out but am in the air conditioned comfort of my own car with an ice cold beverage of my choice.

If you are open to a hotel downtown (you'll need Uber or shuttle) the Van Zandt is a great Austin vibe hotel.

Full disclosure; I was the architect for that hotel. :) But seriously, it turned out great and is worth checking out. Kimpton is the brand.
