2019 FCA HPDE Event! Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - Early-Bird Registration is NOW OPEN!!

While there may still be a layer of ice and snow covering our roads, some solace can be found in the fact that spring is, in fact, fast approaching and soon our cars will be coming out of hibernation.

With the feedback of our members in mind, I am pleased to announce some changes to the structure of one of the most highly-anticipated days on the FCA calendar … Track Day! These changes have been instituted to help ensure that all drivers, regardless of skill level, have a more enjoyable and engaging day than ever before! We have made FIVE significant modifications to the day’s calendar:

#1 – More Track Time for the Piloti (Advanced) Group
We respect the skill level of our experienced driver-members and we have added more track time and less ‘down’ time for this group. Total track time has increased from 3 hours to 3 hours and 40 minutes. That’s an extra two sessions versus previous years.

#2 – Relaxed equipment regulations for the Piloti (Advanced) Group
While technically this change is not new for 2019, it is significant enough to warrant mention. In past years, National FCA organization rules have dictated that drivers in the Piloti (Advanced) group were required to wear full Nomex race suits along with fire-resistant gloves and shoes, in addition to an approved helmet. Going forward, the general rule for Piloti group is no Nomex suits required. The one caveat to this rule is that drivers of any race-prepared or challenge car (in any run group) will still be required to wear full Nomex and adhere to all other equipment regulations.

#3 – More Driver Education for the Via (Beginner’s) Group
The main focus of our track day is high-performance driver education so that our members feel comfortable experiencing their Ferrari’s on the track. There will be more education and more off-track exercises for these newer drivers. This includes the reintroduction of the skidpad and car control exercises.

#4 – More Varied Experiences for the Scuola (Intermediate) and the Non-Ferrari Drivers
This year, we have eliminated the Misti (mixed-marque) run group. FCA members in good standing will be able to bring a non-Ferrari to run in either the Scuola (Intermediate) or Piloti (Advanced) run groups. To help with the comfort level of newer track drivers, the Via (Novice) run group will remain Ferrari-only.

As well, Scuola registrants (optional for Piloti drivers), will also have skidpad exercises to help them learn proper braking and steering techniques without the fear of scary (and potentially expensive) mishaps on track.

#5 – Better Food!
This year we will introduce a new caterer with much improved food for our lunch break. In the spirit of this being a Ferrari owners’ club event, we will have an Italian-themed menu for all our drivers.

In summary, our 2019 track day will offer:
- Greatly increased track time for Piloti drivers
- Relaxed equipment regulations for Piloti drivers
- Proper on and off-track instruction focusing on car control for Via drivers
- Increased track time and off-track instruction for Scuola drivers
- Great food and beverages!

Via (Novice) - $550 ------ Early-bird pricing - $465 until March 29th
Scuola (Intermediate) - $550 ------ Early-bird pricing - $465 until March 29th
Piloti (Advanced Lapping) - $575 ------ Early-bird pricing - $490 until March 29th
Family Touring (Lunch Hour) - $125 per driver; $75 per passenger
