Yes… now all we need is the same part with a gear stick in the new car!! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I agree with both your observations, obviously a misnomer with the F40 now that we see the shift lock out in the gift from Ferrari. It would be great if the Icona Ferraris had their own threads. Admin??? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
readers always wanted a separate icona section but one of the moderators once said he'll wait for the second icona to be unveiled.
Got the call yesterday and I confirmed that I will get it due to having a SP2 Monza. Ferrari has invited me to see it on the 15th of November however I am un able to visit due to prescheduled work meetings.
Can this mean a return to the Medici stronghold 'Fort Belvedere' again? Image Unavailable, Please Login Even Michelangelo would be impressed by the choice of this location for a new 'Icona' debut!
The “Icona series“ belongs in its own area in the Model Specific Discussions. Of course, these vehicles are technically based on models that have already been produced, but they represent a very special product line. My suggestion for renaming this thread (until we know the exact model name): "2nd Icona/based on LaFerrari Aperta". Later you should put this thread and the Monza SP1 & SP2 (812 Platform) in a new model-specific discussion under "Icona Series". My suggestion! By the way ... it will take more than five (long) weeks until the vehicle is presented. Enough time to rename this thread.
I was honestly thinking the same thing when I saw the "gate" in the package for the possible new owners .... Good question. MDS
Guess many of us are wondering the same thing. If they removed the hybrid system, it could be a possibility. I haven't listened to the spy videos, but there we might have the answer.
it's an odd choice to make the accompanying presentation gift a manual as there's no chance they'll make another imo as they're not looking to make that kind of car anymore crazy how exclusive this model is, some extremely good customers aren't being offered it

I think the gift is a reference to the P4, not necessarily a reference to a gated manual. Having said that, nothing would make me happier! The model is probably no more exclusive than the SP1/2, however -as Ferrari promised- SP1/2 owners are being offered that car first. I know of several LaF/Enzo etc owners who are not on the list Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I have think the gearbox stick refers to the 330 P4 (and other cars from the P series having the same gearbox), not as the car being manual. I’d love to know this Icona 2 is manual, but it would have cost a lot to develop a manual gearbox for this model only.
I doubt they'd tease a DCT with a gate gift so there has to be a significant likelihood of manual - don't forget as none of the cars will ever be driven it does not need to be very well integrated despite the extra million bucks spread over let us say 200 cars means they can easily afford to pay for it
