There's been a lot of WDC's that haven't retired until after they get beaten, if you're winning why would you want to stop unless you already had broken all records & didn't think you could win again. I reckon if he wins another WDC he'll retire having beaten Michael's record. Best car or not you still have to give him some credit even if one doesn't like the person, he helped with Mercedes behind him to build a team around him, just like Michael did at Ferrari & he's gone on to equal Michael.
This what I am looking forward to watching this weekend. Seeing a bottom feeder (no disrespect intended to George of course) jump in the #1 car and see if he can get the win.
Lol, there you go! Can someone please put Ricciardo into that car next so he can win a WDC before he retires.
Geez I hope George wins. That would really put what Elton has done into perspective (to be fair, he's done extremely well, but it would put into stark light how much it is down to the car). There are probably eight drivers on the grid who would have won the championship in that car. Having said that, I think Max is a good chance this weekend.
So, VB gets pole by bugger all against a guy who needed to learn a new car in a weekend Louise must be a great driver to beat VB all the time ...... any wonder they call VB "The Doormat" Well done GR, to get so close first up is pretty good, I doubt Dan would have done any better but it's possible
I hope so! lol I bet Lewis is hoping he finishes in the mid-field this morning lol. If he takes the win, really goes to show it's ALL about the car lol We already know that **** but.
I half expect Elton to call Toto and demand they “turn down” George’s car, or he’ll have some mysterious tech issue if it looks like he’s doing too well.
I thought the race proved a few things : 1. the Merc vs the rest is like a 355 against 308s 2. luck plays a HUGE part in winning 3. The Merc pit crew can f*** up worse that Ferrari 4. Sainz is a pretty good driver 5. Perez is better than I rated him and deserved the win 6. George proved it's "just the car" 7. VB really is a doormat in the Mercedes team, they treat him like **** 8. Vettel is a disgrace as a driver, he should NEVER have been in the team, LEC before the crash was up there 9. Tracing Point are on the verge of becoming the next Red Bull if luck favours them just a little And most of all ..... I really enjoyed the race without Hamilton being there but the pommy commentators just switched their allegiance for Hamilturd to Brussel sprouts
I agree with most of it. Point 8 I take issue with. Twice in a row now Charles has done something pretty stupid on the opening lap (diving down the inside into a non-existent gap). He got away with it last week because Seb took evasive action. He didn't get away with it this time. He's acting a bit like Max from a couple of years ago. He needs to settle down. I'd still bet my left nut that if Hamilton was there he would have had none of the "bad luck" that denied George the win.
