This is what we are moving out of. My wife and I put our heart and souls into our home. Even have a 1000 gallon fish tank in the family room. Was hard to give up but kids are gone, it’s just the two of us, and we enjoy building.

Interest on borrowing money is less than inflation. How is this concept hard to follow? I hate the idea of owing money, but I am coming around.

 

contrary to this thread, I’m debt averse myself and have advocated paying cash for depreciating assets and toys. However - money is Cheap and it makes no sense to pull millions in cash when I can get a loan for 2% to build a house.

same with cars. You should pay cash for cars but that doesn’t apply for all situations. There are many ways to skin a cat.
