I'm bewildered at this point. there is no shortage of vaccines. those who wanted the vaccine have received it. those who dont want it haven't gotten it. if those who haven't received the vaccine are perfectly happy to go out and about and take on the risk why are we canceling things? 50% of Americans have had the vaccine plus another percentage had the virus so what's the issue here? im clearly missing something. If you are vaccinated, do you care if the guy to the right or left isn't?

No, and if I am concerned I'll just wear a mask. I'm with you, I just don't get it.

Read the news...just because you're vaccinated doesn't keep you from catching Covid...it simply lessens the chances of serious (or deadly) illness. The scary part is that researchers are now saying that an infected vaccinated person can hold just as much virus (aka viral load) as an infected unvaccinated person. So you may be vaccinated but carrying the virus and spread it unknowingly (because you may have no symptoms) to vulnerable people, both old and young.

A friend of mine who caught Covid back in January and was lucky enough to not require hospitalization (and has since been fully vaccinated), still has no sense of taste and although her sense of smell is starting to return, everything smells like turpentine or burnt popcorn! Just get the damn vaccine (if you haven't) or this delta variant is more likely to mutate into a variant that could be much worse.

Unvaccinated people are still using the excuse that it's too new (over 1 billion worldwide are fully vaccinated!) or they think it's a personal choice (yeah, if it couldn't put other people at risk, but it does).

Ok you aren’t answering my question. If you are vaccinated why do you care if the person next to you is vaccinated or not? Its a very simple question.

Depends on what the vaccine actually does, no?

It was never advertised as stopping the virus, only to substantially reduce the likelihood of serious illness or death.

Carmel Concours had already instituted a proof of vaccination for entry, or requirement to mask up if no proof is provided. I wouldn't expect that to change, but do anticipate requirements changing for indoor activities.

because it's indoors, less air circulation.

    It doesn't kill the virus
Originally it was thought that it kept you from getting infected
Now `break-through' infections have shown that vaccinated people can still catch and transmit it to others. Re-enforcing mask mandates for all is the result. I agree that outdoor events are much less of a risk than indoor events, and everybody knows that indoor venues can get packed. When in doubt, mask up (preferably with N95 mask, which are now readily available).

Talking about events being canceled isn't P&R. However, there is some P&R in the thread. Please refrain from P&R here.
