Things are looking up in the GTD Pro and Am categories. BHW Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is the one I can't understand..WeatherTech Racing is running 2 cars in GTD Pro. A GT3R and an AMG GT. Coop will be driving in both cars. I guess it is to play the BoP game but man is it a weird decision to me. I get Ben Keating running in multiple cars in different categories, but 2 different cars in the same class just seems like desperation.
Scott Tucker did this too, in LMP2 I think. ALMS (at the time) made him nominate which car was his points scoring car before the race so he couldn't pick and choose results. hey, if daddy is going to fund it, I don't have a problem with it.
Paul Miller Racing is switching from Lambo to BMW (Paul Miller owns a bunch of car dealerships, including a BMW dealer but not a Lambo dealer, go figure). however...car won't be delivered in time for Daytona. I find that odd. surely some SRO team has their M4 they can lease out for a race...
Might was well just create a WeatherTech class and then he can get his "free" watch. That said...I appreciate them putting extra cars on track, even if I disagree with some of how they go about it (PLM finish for example).
Damn I missed the part about them not having one in time for Daytona. Didn't Turner get 3 cars for their various programs?
yep, 3 Turner cars and a few GT America (aka World Challenge) teams got their cars already too, despite their season not starting until mid April.
And the fact no one cares about PWC...I mean Word Challenge...err SRO America GT Challenge...whatever Maybe it was just a late decision for Paul Miller? Still kinda surprised BMW didn't help convince a team to rent a car to Paul Miller for Daytona. It said they should have theirs by Sebring so this really shouldn't be an issue. I will be a bit disappointed if they don't race the 24. That said...I am really excited for this year's race. Can't wait to get there!
yes supposedly the deal with BMW was signed at Petit, so very late (early November) but you'd think they would work something out for Daytona. we shall see. maybe they can get an exemption to run Turner's old M6
Turner certainly got their money's worth with that M6. Amazing it was still so competitive after having been around so long.
61 cars on the entry list. Sad there is no Paul Miller Racing but glad to see Risi, GMG and SunEnergy1 on the list since I wasn't expecting them. https://racer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/85/2022/01/2022_IWSC_Roar_PreEvent_EntryList.pdf
They already have one in Ferrari Challenge. The other drivers were getting so pissed at this pro coming in and winning everything they put him in his own class so that other drivers could compete with each other to win. (Though why they still let him in the Challenge series is beyond me.)
Ugh it is going to be a bit chilly this weekend. Out laps are going to be real interesting. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my SM-G970U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I had planned to try to shoot some photos from the Ferris wheel Saturday night. I am rethinking that plan with how cold and windy it is going to be.
The original entry list IMSA published showed his nationality as "?". Showed that way for a few other drivers as well.
lol NBC or IMSA Radio? I can see getting it wrong if it is someone no one has ever heard of...but its ****ing Helio!
