They do and they don't. JLR operates on a regional cartel system where the dealers cannot sell cars to people with zip codes outside their turf (or they face allocation cuts). So even if I wanted to buy a LR in Utah at a much lower markup, I cannot, as I live in the bay area, and that markup is in the 25k for the v6 and 50k for the v8 even in the current market.

GLWS! I may steal your spec, that is a beautiful car.

 

Just glanced at the window MSRP which shows the 122,800 in bold, then used my abacus rounding up.

There is a large difference between a long wheel base autobiography and a short SE in terms of overage.

If you guys haven't driven one yet... These are some of the most incredible driving vehicles on the planet. Seriously... They drive better than a rolls ghost and for 25% of the money. The suspension on these is absolutely out of this world

 

Just went through that BS a few months ago, Ready willing and able to send a wire transfer for a CPO Rover, and they said they couldn't accept it....crazy!

 

So that regional sales restriction applies to used inventory too? Ridiculous. I’ve had half a dozen Range Rovers, all from ADs. If they pulled that on me I’d be pissed.

I’m not sure about a dealer not being able to sell outside a region.

I live in riverside county, and purchased two new RR in San Diego county.

There is a dealer in Riverside County, and is closer to my location than the one in San Diego County.

I have been receiving emails offering discounts on new inventory.

I noticed it as well, then started adding up the options. I was curious if the dealer had added a market adjustment.

It helps avoid questions when the entire window sticker is posted rather than a portion of it.

Not a criticism, just a suggestion.

 

Wow good piece of information to know. I'm going to pay a visit to my local dealer. I order my cars all over, however, this sales model could work well as I have a Delaware registration.

To the OP - good luck with sale, I think market will dictate dollar over MSRP.

 

They try to keep them within the same state.
