We've got a short winter layoff, plus two additional races next year, so maybe it isn't too soon to start the speculation and dreaming about the first race of the season. But will it be a real race...or just pre season testing and only a faux race? The teams gave up almost after the summer break on the 2023 cars, so hopefully they put the time and money to good use getting some solid direction for the 2024 cars. Mercedes made a bold if unsuccessful start of this season. It would be nice if a few others brought an original idea to the first race in a challenge to Newey.

Some driver changes would be welcome as well. Bottas should be retired and let Audi buy Alonzo from AM. That would leave AM an open line to buy Checco, so he can end his career as the number one driver on a team. Russell would then be happy to join RB. Sainz could move to Mercedes. Albon could move to Ferrari. Ricardo could go to Williams...or to Haas in a swap for either Haas driver. And some F2 young turks could fill in the holes.

Same number of sprint weekends as this past year, just swapping a couple of venues.

Im not a fan of the sprints and wouldn’t miss them if they went away, but at least they’re not increasing the number.

Not a fan of sprints either. Especially in the form of this year when they confused the schedule. Hopefully they'll change that for next year and have sprint qualifying on Friday.

I just hope Ferrari can bring some game. I think they can. Im a business guy. I know that when you are at the very top its much harder to stay there. This no testing, stop engine development cycle is stupid. That said it DOES give the folks that got it wrong a year ago the ability to catch up. I'm going with Ferrari has the best ICE. They need to fix the tire issue. I think, thats doable within the rules?

    Engine upgrades are extremely limited.

Chassis/aero upgrades now are completely free so long you don't break the budget cap. So any team can come with a brand new chassis and aero concept.

The problem? Red Bull is refining theirs which was pretty damn good, whilst others have to get to RB's understanding of the aero, first.

Anyone else feel that the off season "news" about F1 is being manufactured to keep interest up among younger fans? Most of it is fake news rehash of old news.

Very typical to provide summary and forecast/conjecture about next year. Also now with the idiocy at the FIA we are further entertained lo.

Difficult to entertain people during the break when a team won 21 races on 22 the year before !

So we have roughly 60 actual working days before the first race weekend of the 2024 season. And not wheel has turned on a track. The first time anyone gets to actually drive a car will be a week or so before the season starts. This can only be a recipe for disaster. Wind tunnels and simulators will mean nothing when it is time to drive one of these cars at 10/10ths on a track. The entire first quarter of the season will be wasted doing the work that they should be doing now. The motorsports farce that is F1, continues. Hopefully no one gets killed or seriously injured as a result.

The high number of races has probably diluted the interest of some who have followed F1 for a long time, I guess.
I am lost in the constantly changes of technical regulations, the penalties dished out for the most trivial reasons, and the apparent move to bring parity among the teams. F1 has become too complex for me.
I used to watch all the GPs; now if just view the recorded highlights, and sometimes only check the results.
I wouldn't sacrifice my Sunday for a GP. I get more enjoyment watching a GT3 race.

I feel you. I recall, from 1999 season till 2006. I missed just one race. One race. The 2006 French GP.

These days, i just don't care anymore. I don't like the regulations, i hate the bloody hybrids, which is why it;'s been years since i actually went to a live race. Everything is so fake and dramatize thanks to the Netflix effect. It's just not a sport anymore.

And it's probably the only sport where one team and one individual can dominate for years, and we have to wait for regulation changes before it can shift hands. It's just so bloody predictable.

Drink or workout more. Your call :) :D

For me its all about testing. You cannot really 'sandbag' anything anymore. If its not going well your basically out of contention. Just ask Ferrari and Mercedes!

    Thanks budget limit!!
