It snapped once, then it slid, rears broke traction, then it slid again. All that at 250mph That's when you realise how talented these guys are.
These guys are seriously underrated, particularly on the big ovals. You don't understand the speed unless have been there - not been to Indy but I saw a race at Ontario Motor Speedway before it shut.
Agree, the TV makes it look slower, same thing happens with F1. Missing also is the incredible pressure on your body from G force. I saw an interview with Dario Franchitti at an F1 race recently. The journalist asked "what wins would you have given up for the chance to race here?" Dario looked at him incredulously and said "give up an Indy 500 win, are you kidding?"

I still had mine with me, but they weren't fussed on me smoking in Coronary ICU & after a talk from the Cardiologist I gave them away.
