IMO, the FIA and Liberty should try to go back to proper racing.
If they continue to introduce artificial means "to spice the show" like DRS, imposed pit stop, different tyre compound, tyre strategy, etc ... we go further and further from proper racing.
They should look at the technical rules the next time they amend it to provide cars that are suitable for the circuits we have. I don't think they do that. At the moment, engineers have too much say in the definition of cars, they shouldn't be consulted.
Although fast, the present cars are totally inadequate, I think, and provide poor racing.
The rule makers should think about writting regulations that do away totally with the present gimmicks.
Maybe we need smaller slower cars, with less power, tyres capable to last the race, even in the rain !
It doesn't matter if the lap time is worse (it's not noticeable to the naked eye) as long the racing is better, overtaking possible, and there is less interference from the pits.

I definitely agree: we do want robust and long lasting solutions, not the patches that I was suggesting. My frustrations led me for quick options that could work
given that it takes ages for the Government body and the teams to come up with new rules, new engines, new tires (!) new formula, get implemented and then
see if they work out. It's ridiculous. I think Pat Symmons has given up in trying to get the right formula (Joke) and joined Andretti.

I like the idea of efficiency and being hybrid power plants they do offer that, but the amount of weight all that brings to the car is a falacy. At first you could say
is that when new technology is brought, it won't optimized as much, so you can understand it is going to be big and heavy (the reliability disadvantage actually
never happened so kudos there), but it's been 10 years and instead of being more compact and lighter, they even increased the power, so no chance to try
    to reduce the weight.

As you say, it'll have to be a pretty drastic change, another revolution, in order to get smaller packages.

Piastri would have overtaken Charles according to Piastri.

"That was a tricky race. The pace at the beginning was incredibly slow. I had half a look before the tunnel but didn’t have a car small enough to fit through the gap."

I would be in favour of smaller and lighter cars in general, and not just because of Monaco.

the best solution I have seen to resolve the Monaco problem is a 'Joker Lap' where each driver has to take a detour a couple of times in the race - as they do in RallyCross.

"A Joker Lap " ? Is that racing ? No.
We don't need more gimmick, nor wallpapering the cracks of this formula.

Would removing the chicane coming out of the tunnel be of any help , with DRS ?

Ah, I see. I agree that the choice is to either make some changes for Monaco or remove it from the calendar. My preference would be the former as I really like the event and I like the fact that it dates back to 1929. I can see that the easier option and probably the more popular option would be to remove it from the calendar.
