I am trying to find the two round nuts that secure the airbox lid to the airbox on a 206 Dino. Originally I figured that they would just be the same as a Daytona or 330 of the same time period, but when I tried to use the nuts from a Daytona, I discovered that the threads are different.

The Daytona airbox has a 6mm stud, while the 206 airbox has a 5mm stud.
The airbox and studs on the 206 appear to be original and unmodified.
Can someone else look at their 206 airbox to see if they have 5mm threaded studs as well. It would be great if you could measure the outside diameter and thickness of the nuts as well as shoot a photo of them, so I can have some fabricated.

    Thanks for your help!
    Sincerely,
    Brian Brown

    Hello Brian,
5mm stud for 206 GT is correct. I will take the outside diameter and thickness later today. I will take a picture for you too.

    outside diameter: 20mm
    thickness: 4mm + 2mm (smaller inner ring diameter 12mm) = total thickness 6mm

they are also correct for 246 GT L-series

    regards Matthias

    Don't all 246's (L, M, E) don't use the same thread cover nuts?

Thank you so much for the photos and measurements! If I can't find any, I will have to have some fabricated.

Superperformance lists them on their website, so I will contact them to see if they are 5mm, but from the photos they don't look like they are made from brass that is cad plated.

They rattle loose and fly off from vibration, I have taken to using a rubber faucet washer underneath them, and then putting a dob of epoxy on the exposed stud above, once tightened.

I scattered a set of them from Yosemite to Las Vegas on one drive, finally stopped in Lake Havasu and put metric Nylocks on, for the rest of the way home....
