Just went up in eBay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-206-GT-1-152-Ferrari-Dino-206-Canepa-Design-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem27b32e9f8fQQitemZ170509901711QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks
The Canepa advertisement states the car "has received an extensive sympathetic restoration by Canepa Design to bring it to its current spectacular condition." I thought the 206 was in spectatular condition when Gregg owned it and had it delivered to Canepa. I wonder whether Canepa did anything "extensive" on this car or if this is just their standard promotional language.
Jim, Yes and also the L-Series Dinos. Also on the Canepa ad it says the 206GT's are 3" lower than a 246gt. Not true. This is a myth!!! From the buttresses forward they are identical in dimension including glass, doors, fenders, interior, dash, seats, headroom etc etc. Differences are in details. Freeman
Any history for the car, was it sold new as red/black? I like the classic wood steering wheel and the detailing on the spokes there. KO wheels and no side marker lights make it really stand out typical Dino models here plus those seats and the interior features. Good Luck! CH
Aloha.. According to the Heritage Certificate I got from Ferrari the car was Silver...it was already red in 1976 when Sweeny bought it in Italy. He never knew and repainted it red and removed the side lights. Canepa did a lot of cosmetic and detail work on the car as I drove it more than 10,000 kilometers in 5 years. It's now in better condition than when I bought it. A real gem if someone wants the ultimate Dino GT. I traded it in on a 1964 289 Shelby Cobra...what a blast to drive... Here it is next to my 59 Carrera GT I'm done searching for cars.......2 keepers Would have kept the Dino if I could have....no regrets Gregg Blue 206 GT #00350 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
