It is a cam grind Ferrari developed. I think it was for hill climb cars as much as anything. I really do not like them in street cars. They give up way too much lower end power.
Yeah, It seems they were for Group 4 racing. If you search Michelotto 308 you will find more info. Also if you search here for P-6 cams you will find a bunch of info. Mine has them with oversized Webers in order to feed them, and it is derivable on the street, but wants to be wide-open like on the freeway. All the power is at 5K and up. Still fine around town, but it reminds me of my 944 Turbo when the boost kicks in. You need the RPMs to climb up to 4500 before things get fun.
It would be interesting to know if they were first created for the 308 GT4/LM or 308 GTB #22711 when it was being developed as the "Versione Sport" Group 4 car. And then, are they actually the cams of the legendary Sprint Pack for 308 production cars? - Dave
