My condolence to you and your family Jas. Must be particularly very hard for your father. There is probably nothing more painful than to bury your child. My thoughts go out to you.

Terrible news, I am sorry for your loss, RIP. Family must always come first. I'm sure you will make the next F40 reunion though.

On another note, I will be at the HOD event with the girlfriend. I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Apparently not at least according to David Ray. I would love to hear otherwise. I was told it would a closed event after planning to head down. I was told this by David Ray via email, today. Apparently no spectators are allowed to attend.

The dinner was fantastic. Many thanks to Jas for the time he spent organizing this.

Also, many thanks to Hagertys for sponsoring!

It seemed the F40 owners are real car people... we had 3 Enzo owners and even one FXX owner. The food was great and the stories even greater.

And, of course, we'll never forget Leonardo Fioravanti and his son Luca. Thanks to both for sharing their incredible stories of the F40s design and development.

There were about 15 F40s at the Concorso. They weren't all together. Here's two at the top of the hill. The one on the left was simply outstanding. It was in storage for 17 years.

    Bill,

I'm glad you enjoyed the dinner and gathering...the pictures are wonderful. It looks like Mr Fioravanti had everyones rapt attention !

The kudos have to go to Brad Phillips of Hagertys, a great friend we've made since our move to Nashville....a consummate "car guy" with the self described "best job in the world !"....his efforts were on display last night.

Many more F40's were registered, but quite a few could not make it at the last moment due to personal and mechanical issues. Regardless, I can tell you it was a pleasure interacting with everyone associated with this event and the owners as a group are the nicest guys you could imagine. I'm looking forward to hearing about Laguna on Monday :)

That's the late Bob Pond's former car (*85269) which I sold to the current owner. Actually it was not in storage, but resided amongst the Pond collection of some 60 cars with a full-time caretaker. The cars were all driven each month by the caretaker, albeit with limited miles, and on occasion by the younger members of the Pond family

Long story, but there is a reason for the "LAMBO SV" license plate...

Hi Joe, I'm happy to know that Concorso was a beautiful meeting for US F40 owners.
I'm in Spain at the moment, and I'm not in US like I was thinking to spent my holiday.
There will be another opportunity to meet us.

Rob the FNA event in 2007 was a last-minute thing where we had just over a month to prepare. In fact, from word-of-mouth just prior to the event my understanding was that only half-a-dozen of the 20-odd owners that said "I'm interested" and provisionally registered, would show. I was shocked to see there were actually 7 of us at Laguna Seca! Applying to these events and being committed are two different things, and there are lots of logistical, personal and mechanical issues that can stand in the way of even those who are committed.

However, I should say that ten years ago I organized a Lamborghini Miura Reunion and the week before the event I had 28 'confirmed & committed' on my sheet. 27 showed. Last year we organized the 288 GTO Reunion (actually I should say my wife organized it), and the week before the event we had 17 cars on the line. 15 showed. I think the secret was in the endless phone-calls & e-mails, and in doing anything possible to facilitate their attendance. That said it is a tough job, one which I am not even sure we will ever take on alone again. I think the next time there is a Reunion there should be a group of organizers to share the load.

As for the attendance ratio, I'm convinced this was just a weird year and it can only improve. Still, the fact remains that more F40s showed up in one place than has ever happened anywhere in the USA, so that alone is a great thing!
