Hi Oscar: Did you do this scan with the 275gtb?
Hi Matt, No I did not. Quite some examples available of a 275 as source these days....By the way, don't underestimate the work though, it is about 350Mb of datapoints that needs to be converted into surfaces. I did scan myself though......They are still working on that one. Ciao Oscar
What a beautiful car Oscar. I am sure you are going to have a fantastic time that you will never forget.
Really cool. Although I use this type of equipment in the goldmine on a daily basis, I had not seen anybody apply it to vintage cars before. Excellent. Onno
Oscar, here are my "modifications" for this year's MM: New tires (radial, slightly thicker). Lowered and softened suspension. New radiator core (modern). New thick wiring on alternator and battery. Modified battery cradle. Emergency lights switch (invisible). Various cosmetic improvements: front licence plate (now painted and smaller), heater switch, fire extinguisher mounting. Wheel balancing, oil and grease checks, new clutch. You are rallying with your wife, and I am rallying with my brother. I have done both, there are advantages and disadvantages with either choice... Cheers, Julio
There is a nice article of the 212 export 0128E in Forza magazine, written by Wouter Brand. If someone is interested PM me and I will send a PM with a pdf. Ciao Oscar
Oscar, I don't know if you already have this photo: 0128E at Elkhart Lake 1952. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Boudewijn, very interesting! did 0128E race in 1952 at Elkhart Lake? According to my info it did only at 1957..... That would be very interesting info (for me...) ciao Oscar ps colour scheme is different.....different car
Today we went for a drive and to answer some questions about the temp/pressure: oil pressure when driving stays in 3.5 to 4 on the scale to 5. oil temperature (Julio asked for that): I measured this after a long drive, outside temp was about 15dg C, oil was 84C, water 76C. I did not put the car very hard though. It was measured with a infrared meter at the sump(oil) and radioator/heads (water). Carbs need to adjust still as giving full throttle engine stalls a bit. Sad to say but I had to install a modern tripmaster....But easy to remove without trace. To install was quite a job though, while the sensor is placed in the km cable. Julio, any progress at your site? ciao Oscar
Hello Cris, The roadbooks of rallys will give directions with meters, so you need accrurate information. The km clock in a Ferrari has an accuracy of +/- 15-20 %. The optimistic speedo will say you drive 150 where you actually drive around 130... Not only the HP where optimistic by Ferrrai in those days, they will give you optimistic info about speed as well. I must say, having an accurate instrument on board that gives you the correct info spoils a bit of the fun, having the illusion driving 150 is part of the thrill. ciao Oscar
Thanks Oscar, I understand as I usually do eents, what I mean is if this is for the Mille Miglia. The two times I did it there was so many people in the street that it was almost a tunnel of people so no need for an accurate odo. I use a Digitech Zephyr for rallying. Kind regards. un saludo grande! Cris.-
Hello Cris, sorry did not know. But I never rely on the people and especially the competitors too much. Although I never did the MM before there are certainly parts and roads without people or signs. Besides this for the about 50! stages you need accurate info. I can't join the MM and just drive without the little game in it. And it will keep my wife awake What years (and what car) did you do the MM? ciao Oscar
Hi Oscar, 2005 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Le Mans 2006 Fiat Balilla Coppa d´Oro (we decided we needed more power than the year before ; ) I don´t remember well but I think in both occasions we finished 16th. Overall. That means we were playing the game! My surprise the first year was when I noticed there was no road book! Just red signs along the road. From last year there is a road book. What a beatiful event!!! ENJOY! Cris.-
Cris, Thanx and nice cars! Please note that our PM will join the event....But still the complete list of competitors is not public yet. Ciao Oscar
She is ready for Brescia and we are almost ready to rock..... ciao Oscar Image Unavailable, Please Login
Julio Looking forward meeting you and your brothet next week. Although you advised me not to, I am pretty frantic.... Onno and the rest of the Dutch gang, see you in Brescia! Ciao Oscar
Oscar, Albeit from a bit of a distance (South Africa), I will be following your endeavors as close as I can. Good luck, enjoy yourselves! Same applies of course to all other members participating! To all those who will be in Brescia: I am so very jealous... Happy motoring, Jack.
