remembering to deactivate the start/stop function every time you start the car is a real pain. Can you do a permanently suppress? My sales guy could not answer the question.

No, must deactivate start/stop every time you drive. Just like you have to turn off auto each time. It only took my three drives to remember.

Thank you. I could write 1000 words on how senseless that decision is by Ferrari, but it is what it is.

Thank the EPA. You are lucky that the Off button is allowed (for now). When I had Vivid Racing/VR Tuned flash my ECU for a big power increase,I had them disable the stop/start.

I am not sure I understand the EPA remark. I have two other new cars (2022/2023) neither of which have this requirement or even have the start/stop behaviour.

The purpose of stop/start is to (slightly) increase gas mileage under the EPA's measuring procedure.

I was excited to show off my Roma to the brother in law, forgot about the start/stop, got to a light and he screamed “Ferrari nooooooooooooooo”. Just a sign of the times I guess.

It's the new law. Nothing to do with Ferrari.

You can have a module made to turn off the start stop feature. A simple arduino with an MCP2515 Canbus reader can do it. All you need to do is find/snoop the can bus code generated by pressing the button, then have that sent 10 seconds after the engine starts. It will deactivate the start stop. Maybe $70 bucks in parts. If you were near me in CT I'd show you how to do it. Super easy once you know how.
