    FRIDAY

Just to be here is awesome, Drove 243 miles from Savannah in the wet, ariived late, up early, and on the track at 9:30!

Two laps, I call these runup laps because you lag behind and hammer it, speed up to 140mph. It was just enough to provide a thrill.

All types of cars were there, from a Jaquare XJ-15 to a Scagaleti, Lamborghini, Lotus, Porche, you name it. The XJ-15 spun right in front of me and was escorted off the track, it was a shame. What a beast, and what a sound!

Then there was Derick Bell, up close and personal with Heyard Hurley. No two drivers have won more endurance races together. Lucky for me there was a vintage auto vendor next door, I purchased a 917 long tail photo, he singed it and put the words, 246 MPH, his top speed at Le Mans! I was stuned when his wife said ooohh look, is there another one that we can have and Mr. Bell said, honey, we have some like those at home!!

Yes, there was an Enzo here as well.

    More tomarrow....

    Hi J David,

Unsure of how many tickets I needed for Milestones, I waited to buy them this morning at the track, where upon I was told sales were advance only. Talked to 400i (Al C.) and he said ya'll had a fun, though brief, time on the track. The vendor booths were great for old mags and die-casts. Have fun tomorrow! Hope your ears and hands thawed-out.

Yes that was me, also, sorry I missed the previous post, I just was able to check FChat. My car is at Andy Greens, as I plan to drive to Amelia Island on the 5th for that event, any one interested?

Now for an update...What an awesome experience it was, from driving the track to meeting Derek Bell. And the race itself....I cannot put it in words, you must be there. I made some new friends who gave me a pass to the Daytona Club, we were right there, on top of the winners circle!! You could see the entire track from there. I'll be back next year for sure. Last but not least, my longest weekend ever, with over 1,000 miles driven.

Thanks for the drive in your car. Had a great time. I'll be sending you a cd-rom with about 125 great pictures from the weekend. A few of them are of your car on Sunday afternoon. Lets keep in touch.
