I'll be out there again at MSR Houston, joining another Fchatter's team. Will you be out there racing? Or spectating?
I may go out and watch my cousins race for a little while. I can't remember their team name, but I believe they're in a bronze/gold Mazda Protege.
I probably shouldn't put this in writing, but what the heck... Goal #1 - Complete car - Done Goal # 2 - Pass Tech Goal # 3 - Start race Goal # 4 - not get 'Cursed' Goal # 5 - Finish Race Goal # 6 - Finish ahead of the guys in the Saab - not sure which one, yet. Goal # 7 - Win Goal # 8 - Compete against Rob in the NASA series - might have to change the color & design of the car on this one...
Well, I'm out of here. Heading to the airport to pick up one of our drivers and then off to Houston. Updates will be posted here: http://lemoncello.wordpress.com
and now #3 complete. Manning fuel station by pit wall. Jason out on track. Updating with pics in link above.
Just so you know....the 1989 Honda Civic Wago-van is the new black. Pass it on. Consistently running in 3-5 positions.
We accomplished 6 of the 8 goals despite a fuel starvation issue that we thought we had conquered Saturday night. We were up to 2nd position at some point on Saturday, finishing the day in 6th with no penalties. We weren't as fortunate on Sunday as we had a flat almost immediately after the start, which led to a black flag and early driver change. The fuel issue returned and we picked up a couple of other black flags which dropped us to 25 or so. Great driving of a deranged car got us back to 15th out of 96 cars and a great time was had by all...
Zerin posted up pictures on http://www.speedsportlife.com/ Here's a great picture of Stew ripping up the track, and one of our penalties. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
