True, but ten years from now buying any OEM, gated Ferrari might be like looking back on the chance to buy that Dino, or BB 512 when they were "cheap"?

Sell, take 260, buy f1 for 100 and spend 30k converting and invest the 130k remaining
    Solid trade.

This should bode well for the conversion market...as far as wanting a driver.

The f1 430s will also start fetching more money as well. I think we are already starting to see it in 360 market. I just helped a friend by an ultra-clean 20k mile 360 spider f1 for $82k.

For a little or no more money you can buy a 488, with that being said, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE OTHER GUYS GREED.

    Thank you

Id take the 430 over 488 for 240k.
488 is blunt and has no emotion, my 2 cents.

This is what a bubble looks like.

The original owner of my '89 328 GTS paid $140,000. I had a copy of the cashier's check in my file. I bought the car in '93 or '94 with 900 miles on it for around $80,000. Enzo passed in '88, and EVERY Ferrari was going to become a collector's piece.

Also, since the start of the lockdowns one of the beneficiaries has been the classic car market. Instead of spending money on vacations and restaurants, people are buying classic cars. I know it sounds silly, but I really think it is a factor.

If someone offered me $250k for my 430 spider with 46k miles, I would give it some serious thought. Makes me glad I ordered it with a 6- speed

Putting this much money into cars that literally have 1 aspect that is "worth" over $100k is so risky. Yes, both my cars have manual transmissions but all of those models did...it is the whole car that makes them special not just one thing.

I hope these folks keep in mind that manufacturers can still produce new cars with manual transmissions....there is nothing illegal about it (as opposed to things like pop-up headlights or cars without airbags and anti-lock brakes). Porsche did just that with the GT3. Ferrari could do the same with a version of a GT3 Touring, which is a huge hit. If that happens, the premiums on a MT car like the 430 go back to what there were a few years ago.

Back in 2005 when I ordered a 3 pedal coupe, I was told I was stupid and no one would ever want a stick again. At the time, the dealer was offering as much as 40K to F1 buyers to flip their cars. They didn't even mention flipping my car! I gave them a check, they gave me the keys and I was on my way. Haha. I still have the car. If I sold it, I don't know what I would replace it with. I've already scratched the itch with older Ferraris years ago. I wouldn't trade it for a 458 or 488. I have no interest in automatic sports cars.

A lot of naysayers here. There is precedence for rare versions of a common car bringing big numbers. Think Daytona spyders or 275 NART spyders. It took a long time, but 328 GTBs now bring big premiums. I'm sure there are other examples. Bear in mind too that a 3 pedal 430 coupe is most likely the most reliable, cheapest to maintain Ferrari ever produced.

I'm not tempted to sell mine. I have to admit, I never thought it would be worth more than I paid but it appears that it finally may be. It's a nice thought.

Only reason I don’t think it’s a bubble right now is the manuals peaked and then came back down to earth and now they are appreciating again so the second leg up is usually a real one.

That said I have no specific desire to pay a premium to add a factory manual to my collection, but I am thrilled to be able to convert f1 ive already owned for a long time, best of both worlds for me me

I totally agree with your thinking... However I would sprinkle a little concern of... The entire luxury car market is on fire... The whole thing. This second wave if appreciation which is usually the real wave... MIGH just end up being the bubble that is the entire high end car market at the moment.

Yes and no though. Laf and 288s are off the highs. Cgt havent moved much at all. Testarossas are off the highs. Seems like the countaches are as well. There is absolutely no doubt the car market has benefited from covid’s impact on spending behavior.

When i think about value i see some awesome bang for buck: scud, 308 gt4, lancia delta, 355, 360, 430, 328, 458, testarossa, 675lt, diablo, cgt.

    E36 m3, e39 m5 both undervalued. 850 csi shld not trade 3 to 4x the e39 m5. Weird times.
