Hi, I'm hoping an eagle-eyed expert will be able to tell me the precise model that this came from. I found it a few years ago in a barn (literally!). A retired panelbeater had kept it for ten years after replacing the nose on a car with only minor damage. He began repairing it then lost interest.
as you can see it is not USA-spec as it doesn't have side markers.

On another note, does anyone have body blueprints for the Dino? I've found all the factory manuals and brochures seem to just use a 206GT sketch and not a 246 one - I'm not sure how accurate they are either. I'm planning on making a model and accurate drawings are a must,
    Cheers

Hi Ross - which part of NZ are you in? I think this is a 246 series L or series 3 front clip because of the bottom air holes but I'm new to this as well - which is the same as my car. I think I might be able to sort drawings for you or at least give you access to my car if your in Auckland.

Looks like a late Euro E series with the round brake intake ducts and the rectangular radiator opening.

Yes, it is for a late E series Euro model so suitable for any car built from around September/October 1972 production onwards.

The entire bottom front looks to have been replaced, so how can you be sure it wasn't an E-series lower clip attached to a pre-E front? I seem to recall instances of an older series Dino with the newer bottom front pc.

Thanks for the responses. I am in Auckland too.
As to whether this is a hybrid of two parts (upper and lower) - I don't think it is as I don't see evidence of a join on the inside. The filler skim evident in the picture is part of the panelbeater's repair.

That's good to hear. I hate when Dino's are bastardized with dramatically different pcs from different series of Dino's (e.g., making a Flares Dino from one that isn't, making a Euro Dino from a US model, etc). Thanks for clarification.

Cool piece. As for value it is realistically not worth anything. Shipping from NZ to just about anywhere in the world will be very expensive and this part would need a ton of work to make it usable. There are other options out there including new manufacture out of Italy and being an 'original' piece means nothing when you are talking about sheet metal. I would urge you to not think of this piece as valuable in any way and consider doing something fun with it. Maybe use the front hood opening and frame up a toy box for your daughter.
