Could someone please post a picture of the correct fuel tank cap for 1974 US Dino GTS. I think mine might be a fake.

    Thanks in advance

These gas caps aren't common, but they aren't rare, just be patient.

    What do you have now?

I was told in 1976 or 77 that a Fiat 124 gas cap was the same as used on my 1971 Dino. I bought one, and I can't tell the difference. Somewhere I still have the gas cap that originally came with my car.

Thank you, all, for your responses. Mine is solid plastic now - without a metal inner ring. I found a NOS Ferrari one for sale but the price is hard to swallow: 180 GBP + shipping. So I think I will follow jag312's advice and get a Fiat repro from Mr. Fiat ($40).

I bought a couple a few years ago and noticed that although they looked the same (same style rubber outer ring, yellow cad(?) metal center), they were different heights and as I recall the shorter one didn't thread onto my (71) Dino's gas filler. I ended up having mine replated and the rubber ring replaced (repro by Verell). I still have the extras somewhere, so if I remember to dig them out of hiding, I can photo them to show the difference.

So not sure if the shorter cap was a Fiat, but the point is that they might look the same but not really be the same.
