246 steering harness: how to disconnect??

    on my euro 246 dino i want to recover the dash, but how do i get the small dash piece that surrounds the lower steering column off?? the steering column wiring harness goes through it to steering wheel. do i have to disconnect all the solder points at the signal lever or is there a connection in the harness under the dash that can be released??

    There are plastic male/female electrical connectors that unplug so you can remove the steering column from the main harness.
