Apologies for starting new thread. Search got muddled with computer glitch... got impatient trying to find old thread!

I just made a repair part I'm really chuffed about. It came out perfectly.

The design is clear... I used the washer and O ring so that indexing can be made accurately to allow the catch to be open/closed in the right angle... otherwise it's REALLY hard to make the thread start and finish at the right torque/position. This way, the O ring is supports it nicely and I didn't loctite the thread... I just glued the O ring.

I glass bond the catch onto the glass.. even though it is a really snug fit... just in case...

I've made 10 car sets but I'm keeping them all to myself before you ask!

You're more than welcome to have your own made just like it. Feel free to ask any questions.

    Phil.

Nice practical solution to an age old problem.

Gonna show pix to a couple of concours guys and see if this is one of those acceptable changes. Probably not, unfortunately :(

Still, for everday use, looks great. Not too didfferent from something I saw a few years ago on a car at the FCA regional in Reading, PA.

Exactly... except I've made them handed so that they sit parallel to the frame... that pic shows one sticking up at odd angle... not so pretty.

Fixed. Had two Ferrari fixer types that I was PM'ing this AM, and brain farted your name. Sorry Phil.

Exactly. That one was a friction fit that tended to slide around on the window.
