    Hi,

I want to remove and replace one of the cooling fans and motors on the Dino. Access is proving a little tricky and I really don't want to have remove the radiator. Is there a way or a knack of getting it out without pulling the car to bits?

    All help appreciated!

    thanks,

    Philip

Fezzaphil, I wish we could but I don't believe its possible. You will have to remove both air conditioning condensor and radiator. I thought I could remove the grill to access but just ran into bodywork, you will have to do it the hard way unless someone has a magical fix.

On my car it is possible to take out the grille by undoing the two side screws and the top screw in middle, gently pull forwards and out one side of the grille and then once one end is free you can pull the grille slightly sideways so that the rest of the grille comes out through the wider centre section of the grille aperture. I have done this many times and despite the shaking hands as I am afraid of scratching the paintwork on the grille surround it seems to work.
Once the grille is out the fans are easy to get to, there is an allen key headed grub screw which holds the fan onto the flat of the spindle, take care when pushing the fan off the spindle that you dont bang it into the radiator.
    Good luck
    Dave

Try these 3 threads that prompted some great clues & cues on cooling system issues from folks who've been there...done that! (I'm new to this posting process & haven't figured out how to properly refer to a thread, so I'll give you this much; you'll have to get there however you can!)

    Not easy, but do-able.

I'd like to add, a lot easier to do in a non-a/c car.
