I'm in the process of removing the dash from a 71 Euro 246 GT and it does not want to come out. I 'think' that I have just about everything removed but still it fails to come out. The dash is loose but just will not lift out. Does the front windshield need to come out? Or could I be doing something wrong. Any input would be most appreciated.

Windshield does not need to be removed, there must be a screw or two still in place....

Its not too hard...did you remove the inner windshield surround panel? In other words the padded U shaped piece that surrounds the windshield. The lower "legs" of it will abut the front right & left corners of the dash where they are nearest the windshield. There are two screws on either side of the dash holding it to the fwd door posts, some annoying heater cables and the instrument binnacle which must be removed(easy as all connectors only attach one way) and thats it. When I did my gts (so not sure on a gt) I couldn't get it out and a woman who used to do interiors told me the trick. Good luck

Thanks for the help guys. It was hanging up on the vents. Once I 'helped' it a little the dash came right out.

The only attaching points on the dash are four large machine screws (two on each of the ends and accessed from the L+R door jamb faces) and the double stick foam surround of the oval dash vents.
The inner "A" pillar trim and the steering wheel mount (four 10mm bolts), do make it difficult to move it out and I found I had to remove those too.
