Anybody designed their own muffler system ? I am thinking of making one using two glass packed straight through mufflers sixteen inches in length , mounted transversally to replace the rusted original box.The pipe from the front header will enter the front box on the passengers side & then exit thru pipe to the rear drivers side. The pipe from the rear header will enter the rear box on the drivers side & then exit thru pipe to the rear passengers side. The two mufflers will be welded together with strap iron & also supported by them to the frame hangers. Each side of the boxes (front & back) the pipes will be joined by balance pipes, ie left header pipe to right header pipe & left exhaust pipe to right exhaust pipe. Any ideas or reccomendations ?
