Job PF : 22107. - chassis type 508 D - engine type 128 D 1st Series, inside plug engine (only 57 made), drum brakes. According to many noted Ferrari historians, less than half exist today and only 3 are currently present in Australia. The most recent service performed was an overall health check and the rebuild of the brake system which was performed by Ferrari Sydney in March 2021 to the cost of $4,900. 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe by Pinin Farina (250 PF Coupe). USD $500,000.00. The car on offer was the 107th out of a total of 353 units built. It was fitted with the desirable tipo 128D twin distributor, inside-plug engine, three Weber 36 DCL carburettors, four-speed manual gearbox, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, and Borrani wire wheels. It was delivered new to Milan, Italy and found its way to the USA early in its life. The car was imported into Australia in c2001 by a well-known Ferrari collector in Adelaide. It was later acquired by a Sydney based enthusiast who had some major works done to the car during his ownership, which included an engine rebuild. The car changed hands again in early 2015 when it was acquired by its current owner, a prominent Sydney based enthusiast and collector. At that time the car was red and its new owner decided to repaint the car in the most stunning colour of ‘azzuro medio’ blue. Today the car presents beautifully, and the paintwork remains ‘as new’. The wire wheels are in excellent and complete the overall presentation of the car. All of the exterior trim, chrome, lenses and the glass are in good condition. Inside the car, the cabin is also in very good condition. Whilst on older re-trim, all of the seats, door cards and rear section are still fresh and present exceptionally well. The feature of any fifties Ferrari is the dash, controls and of course the timber steering wheel, all of which are in very good condition. Under the bonnet everything is clean and fresh. The Columbo V12 is as much a work of art as it is an engineering masterpiece! Slip in behind the wheel . . . take it all in . . . remember to switch on the fuel pump . . . turn the key . . . .allow the fuel pumps to prime the carbs . . . a few pumps on the accelerator . . . push the key . . . . the starter motor whirs and then the V12 bursts to life! You impatiently let the car warm up and then it’s time. After a few short kilometres it’s apparent that everything on this car is incredibly tight for a 60 plus year old car! The car hesitates from time to time as everything fully warms up and then it’s almost like you’ve flicked a switch and it’s ‘all systems go’. The V12 revs willingly through the rev range, the gear change is precise and the car handles and stops as you would expect. Highlights:– a rare world market car with only a few examples in Australia.– the car retains its original ‘matching numbers’ engine.– imported into Australia in c2001 by a well-known Ferrari enthusiast in Adelaide.– the car is offered for sale from one of Australia’s prominent collectors.– the engine was rebuilt in 2006 (less than 1,000 km ago)– it is maintained by a respected Sydney based classic Ferrari specialist Sal DiMauro.– there is a history file, original manual and a tool roll. There can’t be many 1950’s Ferraris left in Australia so this car presents an incredibly unique opportunity. Can ship it anywhere in the world.

Clean your car up!! It’s filthy!....I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually think this is a bargain. Unbelievably beautiful example. Best of luck on your sale.
