Hello all, I have heard a rumor today concerning 4757GT. Apparently it was sold a few days (maybe a week) before Retromobile 2009. This car was supposedly sold to a French (parisian in fact) car collector. Does anyone have any info on that transaction? Thank you,
I would like to know more too. This is the one that was sold to the drug dealer in 1982 for 350K (Previously Jim Stolenwerk for about 40k in '76). It was confiscated in 1984 and sold at an auction Oct. 1987 for 1.5M.
Paris? Perhaps Krasnavian gave in and finally bought another one! Does anyone know who the drug dealer was that owned it from '82+? It wasn't one of the "Cocaine Cowboys" (of recent documentary fame) by chance, was it?
Because it is his most beloved car in his personal collection and he is racing it a lot I don't think mister Kroymans will ever sell it before selling a bunch of his other cars...
Thats why I have a hard time believing this info, but times are hard, for everyone, and you never know.
this newspaper article is Dutch but translate it through altavista babelfish or so. It is about his company not about his cars or the person himself. http://www.volkskrant.nl/economie/article1134648.ece/Problemen_voor_autobedrijf_Kroymans Tom
Are we talking about this car? Picture taken @ Ferrari Racing Days, last October at the Nürburgring. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Frits is above all a businessman. He's been down before, and got back up. But is there more than a runour? Let's not draw any unjustified conclusions.
Well the info came from a reliable source, but I don't through many people it went through before my friend. I highly doubt it, but again, GTO's aren't sold through ads and we usually get the info months after the sale. I am trying to find out more from my source but honestly my hopes really rely on what people hear know...
I guess the sources are not that reliable; the car being prep;ared for this season's racing for the long time owner who is not selling the car.
Thank you the info. Have you personnally seen the car at Roelofs since Rétromobile? The parisian owner could also have decided to keep it at Roelofs, and have it prepared by them. Please share any other info.
Car is owned by Dutch Ferrari importer Kroymans and the car is normally in the museum at his dealership in Hilversum, Holland. They've been doing remodelling there this winter so the car had been moved out, which may be why the car was spotted somewhere else. But surely his own staff would be preparing the car? They have known this car since 1987. Onno
Sorry, I should have been more explicit. I know that the car was (and probably still is) owned by a dutch collector, I was talking of the hypothetical parisian owner.
