This beautiful specimen, 3339, was at Italian Car Day a few weeks ago... i'll admit, i'm not much for vintage luxury Ferrars or automobiles in general, but this really looked nice... The owner, of course, was a real pleasure to talk to (again) and was only more than happy to answer any questions i had...

    Vintage luxury Ferraris?
    :)

Interesting that it has the early front end lights and late tail lights.
    Very, very nice.

as long as we are playing "concours police", the horsey is not supposed to be this shiny (it was on later cars, but this one should be semi-gloss)

Here is my series 3 car

This is a good example of how small surprices in Ferrari-land never end.

If you look closely, they are not late type tail lights exactly. This kind of tail lights seems to have been used for a very short period of time around this chassis number. Maybe they ran out of stock ("What do we have on shelf today, Toni? Nothing? Go quickly over and see if Fiat, Alfa or Lancia are putting something into their cars, that we can use! Presto! We need to finish all these cars so we can sell them!"). Note also that they were not a perfect fit; a small box-shaped piece of metal had to be welded under it to make it fit.

I would love to know which car these tail lights really belong to. It really is a fabulous looking car, wish ours would look like that one day!!!

    Best wishes, Kare

I really like the 250 GTE's - clean, classic lines and proportions. Silver is a great color for those cars.

Thanks for the pics, nice detail pics too.

Did you get any of the interior?

This has just convinced me, I'm buying a 250 GTE. I love the Lusso and they have some similarities. The Lusso is out of my price range though. I'm going to start a new thread for my search.

I'm sure everyone probably knows this, but be sure to check out tom Yang's excellent 250 GTE restoration site - with videos and sound!

    NNO,

Watch out your taste is maturing. This is a perfectly normal process that starts when you get into a marque ... as you tire of the younger products brashness you start appreciating the older more refined vehicles!

Think about a 330 America then...250 GTE body with the 4L engine. Of course, there are fewer of them.

Also, if you like the lines, how about 250 GT PF coupe? A bit pricier though than the 2+2, but still not that bad.

It also was judged "Best Ferrari" by the attendees!

(Interestingly, all three Ferrari awards were won by front-engined, carburetted V-12, Borrani-equipped cars.)
