The GTE used in Poliziotto Sprint is 4105 GT and is now in the Maranello Rosso Collection in San Marino. However, it is hardly recognizable as it was used to make a cut-away display of a GTO (alongside a real one) so the viewers could see how one was made. The collection is going on sale, so maybe one could buy and restore it. Well, maybe thats not a good idea. It has already gone through a lot... However, should it need a new chassis, they have 2825 GT in the gift shop! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hmmm...Jess Pourret used to have a 250GTE chassis, painted red, hanging on the wall at his country house in France. I wonder...
4139 is now some 6 weeks away from completion of its nut and bolt restoration. Apologies that my technical skills are not up to the rotation of 2 of the photographs. 4843 was recently found in NJ and is on offer at Bonhams Quail Lodge...i don't believe it was on the lists posted earlier in this thread range seems quite low but Bonhams seems to do that with the "barn find" cars. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21917/lot/248/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
This "project car" sold for US$ 275,000 inc. premium. Less buy/sell fees, are these trading for $200k net as complete projects? What are they worth without drivetrains these days? What about frame/body and nothing else?
Thanks for the pictures. The car looks spectacular! That is just like 4959 when it was delivered. By the time I bought it, it had a poor silver repaint but the interior moldings were dark gray. David Image Unavailable, Please Login
Steve - The ID plate for 4605 GT just popped up on ebay as for sale by SWBStudios. The seller says it was removed when the engine compartment was detailed, but it does not sound good. Original Ferrari ID Plate for A 1964 Ferrari 250 GTE 4605 | eBay
Another one bites the dust ? Tom getting back to the original point of this thread, which has revealed the life of or confirmed the death of a few cars..., how many originally bodied/engined GTE's do you currently know of ?
Not to worry, that is the plate I removed many years ago. Its my auction. I have a number of old Ferrari(and Porsche, etc) bits that I am selling here and there. I would hope that 4605 is alive and well as it was a very nice GTE.
On a close related item to the 250GTE's is there any estimate on the remaining 330 America? Or a related website?
The best I can say is that I have had contact with 260 complete GTEs in the last 5 years and given the market price I am comfortable saying that they should still be in one piece. Using the calculation (guesstimate) that we did at the beginning of this thread I would say that there are 347 whole GTEs out there. However, keep reporting on this thread, because it has helped me find a bunch more!
I think Kerry Chesbro's site The Ferrari 330 Register - The Original Site Dedicated to all Ferrari 330 Cars would be your best bet. I am not aware of a site or register dedicated only to 330 Americas.
There was a number floating around on Tom Y's site a few years ago that 17 of the 50 330 Americas were intact. Tom Y owns one of them.
I've recently acquired 3215, I believe Tom Wilson may have had some info on it but otherwise seems like its been off the radar for a bit as there is no history in Barchetta, etc. It will join 4533 which I still own. 3215 is a numbers matching car that spent the majority of its life in CA/AZ. The previous owner had the car for over 20 years and the car has over 40 years worth of service records with very recent work including a full engine rebuild and addressing all major systems. The car also recently had a bare-metal repaint. While the color is unfortunately not original, I think it suits the car quite well. I will have the interior re-done as the current interior was done at some point in the 70s. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations, Abe. The only entry I have on 3215 GT is that it was spotted in the shop of the Radcliffe Motorcar Company in Reisterstown, MD on May 7, 2011. Brown exterior, brown interior, California plates "YCT 061", internal engine number 968E, undergoing engine rebuild.
Yes, 330gt.com is Kerry's 330 GT registry site. 330register.com is the work of Paul Gilpatrick and covers all 330 road cars, including 330 America, 330 GT, 330 GTC, and 330 GTS.
